I don't think it's unreasonable to have passengers in vehicles refrain from drinking. I know I won't allow any drinking in my car (except, of course, soda, water and vitamin water). I say pass the Bill.

can't understand why this bill did not pass, oh yeah now i know why, our politicos like to tip back few and don't want to be subject to the law. that figures they ALWAYS watch out for themselves.

Open container, or, not. It should be illegal to have any alcohol in the car outside of the trunk.

Every law is a freedom lost. Thank God this one wasn't past. We really need to get legislatures to take a long furlough. We should have them work four weeks a year - max. Then they would just focus on the important stuff.

Sounds good to me.

How could they be impelled to remove old and stupid laws from the books?

What I find strange is how this story doesn't line up with the laws apparently on the books: Once my Cheshire friend who used to drive an old Dart on a 4x4 frame was pulled over and told that there was a $100 per empty fine. The cop estimated that he had about $10,000 in fines for cans strewn in the back, warned him but gave no ticket. He had no alcohol in his system.

This did actually happen. How can this law not be on the books with police making threats like that?

The New Moon in your fourth house of home and family may find you longing to stay cuddled up in bed. Many of you will want to sleep late this morning, but few of you have the luxury to do so.
