Driver charged in crash that killed fetuses

A Pownal woman who was involved in a crash that seriously injured three people and caused a pregnant woman to lose her unborn twins was arraigned in Bennington District Court on negligent vehicle operation and drug charges.

i am so glad that they finally charged her and everything is coming to light about every thing. now people will see she isnt miss innocent and her lies are brought to the light for all to see. see the blairs and the ones supporting them are not the bad guys after all. so state of vermeont and lock her up.

yes i know a lot who are on the road shouldnt be and it is a bad situation. i havent seen anyone in here say they were perfect and never did anything they were not proud of. i am pretty sure no one those who are upset with kelly did not kill someone or hurt someone. there is a big difference to what kelly did to a lot of what people have done and are asamed of. i would like for you to tell me a reason why the babies died and the blairs were hurt by kelly, because the only reason i can come up with is she was being stupid. what happen that night should of never happen and could of been pervented if kelly had stayed off the road that night.

If everyting happens for a reason lets hope it is for Kelly to get help and be a responsible, contributing member of society. I would like to see part of her sentence to be talking to people about what she did and the drug abuse that cause this tragedy. She needs to stand up and take responsibility for what she has done including kill to unborn babies.

Nobody here is perfect. But what happened was not an "accident" where ice was causing the road to be slippery, or a mechanical failure on her car causing this. This was a "crash". She was driving an unsafe vehicle at an unsafe speed while under the influence of something. A crime was committed that fateful night. I don't believe she intended to commit that crime, but she commited one nonetheless.

I know there are those who would say "Put her away!" I believe she should answer to the same laws and face the same punishment anybody else charged with such a crime should face. And if that means jail time, so be it.

Maybe now she'll grow up. Because those innocent babies never will.

We recieved our sentance for LIFE. By Kelly herself. I assure you she will not be punished nearly as long as we will. In 20 years she Im sure will be out (more likely in 6 months if she does any time) in 20 years she will be walking prettty good. In 20 years she will have a pretty normal decent life (If she cleans up) thats up to her. BUT in 20 years, my husband will NOT be walking normal if he doesn't loose his leg to an infection he is trying to fight. In 20 years our babies will still be dead. In 20 years I will still be missing my angels in heaven, and be reminded daily by scars and injuries to my back. In 20 years I will still be providing medical care to my husband, not taking vacations and enjoying things like we coulda been normally. We recieved our sentances. My children will still remember this accident because they were sentenced to the rest of their lives forcibly changed in that moment to a life with parents who can not and will not be able to do things like we use to. Dad will not be able to get out there on a snowmobile like normal if he ever does again. Dad can not do alot of the things he use to. So we recieved our sentance, we did not get a trial, a choice a bargain. But Kelly will. I guarentee you her sentence is much lighter then ours. Welcome to Vermont!

Just keep working to change the laws. Keep working so maybe another mother who will be in the same situation you were placed in on that fateful night actually has the chance to see the driver charged with taking a life.

I want to say one thing here - Yes this girl caused the accident - but why was this lady taken all the way to Dartmouth? Bennington should have looked at her and done an emergency surgey. There have been cases like this where the hospital errored in the treatment and the person who caused the original injury was not charged for murder but for a lesser crime. I want to know - was this lady taken to Bennington to be looked at - if so - why wasn't it spotted - 8 months old can live and better out than in in this case. Not to deflect any blame - but why not 2 seconds away to Bennington vs 1/2 away ? I just don't get it? Who's call was that? You can blame Kelly for the accident but I don't think you can blame her for the death of the twins.

she was taken to bennington hospital where they thought she needed better care then they could give. bennington hospital is not set up for really bad stuff, they send you off to other hospitals to deal with stuff they have no idea how to deal with. bennington is behind the times when it comes to a lot of the trama.

I feel pitty for you and your family I do - But why were you taken to another hospital and not Bennington - I was severly beaten by my ex- husband 23 years ago - and I was 7 months pregnant - my placenta feel and I was bleeding inside - Dr McClellen did an emergency C section on me and my baby lived. So - with no did respect Ms Blair - I was wondering why Bennington did not do that for you - they are top rated in the Baby dept. Who's decision was it to fly you so far away? Yes Kelly caused the whole accident and there are other things involved - however - the most tragic one involving the death of the babies can never be healed. So - let's try to change that in the future as well to get pregnant women in auto accidents treatment right away.
I don't get the situation of the babies. Pregnant women have been given emergeny C on the side of the road to save the baby because they were killed in the accident - someone along with Kelly messed up - who?
