"That it's a crusade is a shame, I never intended for this to be a crusade and it shouldn't be," said Joe DiPasquale, who says he's on a journey to honor Parete, his life long-friend and former high school classmate.

Why not name something after her in Buffalo unless all of the parks and street names are taken up by MLK, Megar Evers, Malcomb X and Mitt Romney
I vote that they name a restroom in Ellicott Creek Park for you. I can see your name displayed proudly over the holes cut between the stalls.

"But, DiPasquale believes the explanation goes deeper than this and that the City Council will never honor Parete, in part because she's was a lesbian."
----------

As a fallen Officer I would agree with the park naming but being a lesbian...NO. I hate she was shot and eventually died of course but being a lesbian she should have never been allowed to become a police officer to begin with. Just my opinion.

I don't understand your reasoning. Why do you believe a lesbian should not be a police officer?

Additionally after 2003 it would be a violation of NY's Sexual Orientation Non-Discrimination Act or S.O.N.D.A.

Poor moral standards. They are suppossed to have a high degree of moral turpitude. Self explanatory.

What in hell would you know about toe tapping in a airport bathroom stall ???

Even if it were a tall, statuesque tranny who looks like 'Patsy' on the Brit TV show "Absolutely Fabulous"? I mean, you can just tell by looking at that type that they probably give GREAT head, "dahling" ...

Right now the issue is kweerz, which is a lack of moral turpitude. That USED to be a disqualifier for law enforcement according to a friend who is a NYS Trooper.

Yes, and this was right about the time of the Spanish Inquisition I would assume. This trooper friend must be VERY old.

He must also pine for the days when possession of one joint could net one twenty years in prison. Ah, things were SO much more simpler before those communist-terrorist-Satanic libertarians started squawking about crimes WITH versus WITHOUT victims, and how any supposed "civilized" society does indeed differentiate between the two.

Freakin' God-cursed troublemakin' avatars of Satan themselves and for that reason ALONE!

And being female USED to be a disqualifier. Times have changed.

When I first applied to take the civil service test for Police Officer in the early 70s you were disqualified if you were below a certain height or below a certain weight or wore eye glasses including contact lenses.

In my opinion the Buffalo PD was a much better department in the past. But it wasn't the introduction of females or gays into the force. It was the abolishment of the Precincts and two man cars which caused the ruination!

No, Gump, I am not a homosexaul, and I couldn't care less who is or who is not a homosexual as long as they are not these closeted ones who have wives and kids for show while they live their secret life and bring AIDS home to their wives
And you know what else, Gump? I don't have carbuncles, but if I did, I would not let anyone suck the fluid out of them
Gee...that's so sweet!

You do know that gump has a huge crush on you. He chases after you and flirts to get your attention by using some of your favorite phrases (balloon knot and polish the bishop. But in the end, you'll break his heart...
