With the proposed seven (although only three tentatively) new gambling casinos Gov. Cuomo has proposed upstate, should one of them be located on the "Route 18" strip somewhere between the Niagara River and Somerset (preferably near Olcott Beach itself) and could this be a "shot in the arm" to make the Niagara 'Ontario seaboard' a more popular fair-weather place comparable to its so-called Golden era?

I'm not a big gambler myself, but if it helps the area in other regards I'd be for it. While raised in Buffalo from 1957-77 - and even though my wife and I just bought a 'micro farm' across the Hudson River from Albany - we prefer to stay in this area during at least fair-weather Buffalo visits, and were actually relieved when Budwey took over the supermarket that Shur-Fine abandonded a couple of years ago.
