we can't afford to keep paying money to make new positions for people who already make way too much!

sure we can all it means is that we will be paying more tax(for all of us tax payers can understand it means "bend over and take up your a** like a good boy or girl")

This wasn't a new positon, just an expansion of an old one. If you feel no new postions should be created tell them to dissolve the director of transportation job they created recently, or get rid of the many new sheriff's deputies just hired.
