Well lets be the first to say its not me or I would never do that. This is just the begining of what is in store for Mr Nick. More charges to come. It is a sad state to be happy that someone is put in prison for using drugs. Not Dealing Drugs. America has been on the down word slide. It goes back to the saying if you do crime be ready to do the time. Prison is a sobering state of mind. I wish the best for Joe and I hope that some day some way we find a way to help our bothers and sisters that need to use drugs to cope with life. At the end of this day it is sad for everyone that is related to Joe and is friends with Joe. Yes it is nice that our Law Enforcement did their jobs. Its just a Lose Lose not Win Win. So Sad in the end.

This just goes to show you, nobody is immune from the law. No matter how full your bank account is or how well known your name is, and that is exactly how it should be.

It's a terrible lesson to be learned so late in life. Most people cross those difficult bridges at a younger age. This should've been a time for Joe when he prepared to be a grandfather and thinking of retirement instead of being a convicted felon. The choice was his alone and the conviction is an object lesson for everyone out there doing their particular crime. If you are out there doing your "thing", you have a mindset that you'll never get caught but you are not up against an individual - you are fighting the combined efforts of law enforcement. I've known Joe for a long time and I'll still know Joe when he gets out. It has been a long spiral downwards for him and I take no pleasure in seeing where he is going. This could be the intervention that saves his life or the lives of others.

For those confused about the label of "drug dealer", consider this. If one purchases or receives illegal drugs from another person, with or without the exchange of currency or favor, they have executed an illegal drug transaction in violation of the law. Though a person "only" bought drugs does not exclude them this label and their actions enhance the ability for the seller to further his marketing skills to others. Both parties are drug dealers.

Justice has not always been blind in this community but this conviction and sentence is fair to the offender and the community. It was handed out with dignity and respect by law enforcement, the prosecutor and the judge.

The real measure of a man doesn't come in times of prosperity and success but is more acute in times of adversity. Joe's downward spiral was of his own making and transparent to all who knew him. Now he, and his family will pay the price.

For those who justify the illegal use of drugs and consider their usage as "coping" are selling out to emotion and not reality. Illegal drugs are recreational for the most part. They should not be confused with prescriptions from a doctor, counseling sessions from a psychologist or professional rehabilitative measures and family support.

Everyone has an opinion and a story. You just read mine. Joe has been a friend and an asset to the community in the past. He will weather this storm.

It is so sad that our legal system can't recognize when someone is in desperate need of help. Rehabilitation is what should have been ordered not jail time. Joe has not hurt anyone but himself and explain to me how jail time will help him. Joe gets 5 years for one felony charge. Janine got 5 years probation for her second felony charge. There has been a HUGE injustice done here. It makes me sick. My heart goes out to his family and children.

I feel the same but the presence of a gun is somewhat alarming. Joe couldn't see that he needed help but those around him knew it and family surely saw it. Where were they? They were there at the sentencing, why weren't they seeking intervention and rehab?

Joe is an adult and would not listen to his family. Don't think they did not try to help him or confront him on this issue. In the end it was his own will to do what he did.

Makes it even worse knowing he turned away from family. Guess it had to go down this way. I'm going to take a break thinking about this because I for one, sure like him.

I hear more charges to come, 25 to 50 is what DA is asking for!!!! O'l Bob should just sell the agency and put a sock in Francis's mouth. She is the reason he's the way he is, if I had a mother like her I'd do drugs also.

So, you're saying today that you have a Mother and didn't crawl out from under a rock? Does your name in any way describe what you first heard when the nurse brought you to your Mother? She must be very proud of you. Wonder how your family history stacks up in this community? Are you still molesting animals and children? You probably are on drugs.

My family tree won't stack as well as the Nick for reasons as follows.
My dad never got beat in a mayor race by Evertt Horn.
No drug use in Family
No jail time in Family
No diviorces in Family!
No wife swapping parties in my Family!
None never caught wife or husband in bed with good friend!
Never hired a convicted sex offender and place him to work in a apt, complex where children played and home alone!
No my family would have a real hard time stacking up to such a Classy family.

Really, we do have a problem in our family like everyone else but we are taking drugs and therapy and I'm sorry for everything I wrote earlier. I'm bi-polar.

If I didn't know better I would think you we're talking bad about Everett horn but It would be more than my pleasure to tell you what a wonderful person he is!!! Everett is the type of person to always come running when not just a friend or family member calls for a favor but anyone and everybody! Sure he has a past but everyone does and that's what makes us who we are today!!! I couldn't think of one person that could walk Everett horn's shoes and fill them and still turn out to be such a big hearted person!!! And as for the family thing everyone has problems in their family it's ignorant to think otherwise!!! I pity who ever wrote this simply because they will never know his kindness and generosity but I am very proud to be able to call Everett horn my grandpa!!!!!!!!!!

I feel sorry for Janine. Not Joe. I used to know Janine. She was always a very friendly girl. She came out of the mountains in Montana meeting a pipeline worker and marrying him and moving to Henryetta. I guess he didn't treat her good enough and she later met Joe. She was a good girl. Never done any drugs and her only fault would be wanting to be loved. Till she met Joe. Now she has a record. Janine sweetie, if you ever read this, please go home. Spend some time with your family. It's better that you do that than spend time in jail and totally ruin your life for someone who will never marry you anyway. Your a good girl and somewhere there is a good guy for you, but it isn't Joe Nick. He's done enough for your life. Go home.
