<quoted text>Comparing rotten apples to apples not so rotten is what you are doing. Oklahoma schools rank low, plain fact look it up. Harrah ranks low for oklahoma Schools. The stats I looked at are national stats, comparing schools across the country. Look it up yourself.
According to the OK State Dept. of Ed. Academic Performance Index (API). Harrah ranks higher than surrounding communities. Harrah's API is 1330, Mcloud is 1270, Choctaw is 1317, Wellston is 1222, Shawnee is 1299.
DON'T BRING YOUR OPINION ON HERE AND STATE IT AS FACT. The "FACTS" are that Harrah is a better school academically than the surrounding schools.

This message brought to you by a Harrah grad. that was smart enough to actually look on line at statistics.

No one was hurt, and school property was not damaged. Since when are students punished so harshly for harmless pranks? I'm an adult, and a teacher at that. They should not be punished; this was a really good senior prank. Lighten up, people.
I too see the humor in their prank. The one thing that does disturb me is that the water they used to fill the pool no doubt wasn't treated to neutralize the cholorine, and the fish suffered and died. I know it's only fish, but it was cruel. The whole concept of the prank was funny, but I am curious if the students thought about what tap water does to fish. Nothing was mentioned in the story about this.

I must say this is once that I support the Harrah School Board. Over the years I have seen them bow to the pressure of the "popular" kids and their parents or the parents who "bothersome". Many times the Board has gone into Executive Session to avoid being addressed by a "Taxpayer" with a concern regarding the school. I am sorry that the students will not get to walk across the stage for their family to shine with pride. Graduating is an awesome accomplishment. The students and their families should just be glad that they did not have to move to prevent their child from being bullied, which is a crime, by both students and teachers at Harrah Schools. School administers have stated that they cannot control everything that goes on at school, but thanks to the cameras they can identify the students involved in this prank, too bad they couldn't use those same cameras to identify students harrassing other students. Give the students their diplomas and kick their butts off campus. Also the upstanding citizens of Harrah planning on attending the "Graduation at the Park" should be at the 2010 Harrah High School Graduation in support of the students who did not commit the vanadlism of school property.

That is one of Harrah's fine teachers approval of the vandalism.

It is a shame that the Class of 2010 will be remembered for the six students "wanting to outdo the previous pranks". The Valedictorian, who obviously worked hard to earn that title, will now be remembered at the "punk" who vandalized the school instead of his commencement speech. What a disappointment. The parent who gave the key or code or whatever to the students should be charged with accessory or something. What was that parent thinking?

Its not harmless when all the Goldfish died! Funny that the smartest kid in school thought of this, says alot about Harrah High. Close down the park make them have a "BECAUSE I WAS BANNED FROM GRADUATION" Party at the moms house who gave them the pass code!! LOL Give her a bag of Goldfish crackers to hand out to these brainiacs!! Good Luck to all 2010 Graduates that did not participate in the 2010 GOLDFISH MASSACRE!!

I understand the school board is considering an inspirational memorial to the fish who gave their all to carry off this prank: a six foot statue in front of the main entrance of a goldfish in cap and gown being awarded an honorary diploma for academic achievement, heroism and sacrifice.

Why doesnt the school do something besides worry about a senior prank? Why dont they do something about the registered sex offenders living across the street from the school or the ones coming up to the school to pick up their grand kids. PTA parents stealing money from the school. They dont seem to care about that. Just picking on kids having a senior prank. What did they do when they graduated?

Regarding the Baccalaureate, The only speaker in a suit & tie was the State Senator. Looks like the school really takes this kind of solemn occasion seriously. Show some respect yourselves Harrah Schools. They lost the music and had a local church band play nontraditional music. Very light Christian Rock. I was insulted at their appearance, very ragged and less than respectful of the occasion. Way to go Harrah. No wonder the kids can't wait to get out of this town.
Let me begin by saying I was the one who organized the Baccalaureate. For years it was held at Church and the participation was very low. We moved it 3 years ago to the Middle School and changed up the venue in order to encourage the kids to want to come to this event. I do not apologize for how the event was ran considering my son was one of the graduating seniors. I am very proud of the band that played that night because I know these young men personally and they are awesome examples to the youth. If there are any complaints at all feel free to call or visit me at FBC Harrah. I am the You the Pastor there and I would be more than happy to discuss this with you.

One more thing, who messed up the Baccalaureate? That was a crime. This was an unorganized disaster. Classy programs too!!!!!!!!!! NOT!!!!!!!!!! Maybe college prep instead of minimum wage or jail prep should be your focus. Harrah schools, you are a big joke!
I'm the person who was in charge of the Baccalaureate. I hope that we can keep in mind we were coming off a week of devastating storms and we actually had bad weather right before this program started. We fund this along with 3 other Churches on a very limited budget. Maybe this conversation should take place in person so that there is no misunderstandings. I am the Youth Pastor at FBC Harrah and would love to visit with you. Please feel free to come by anytime. Again my name is Mike Gibson and I don't believe I caught your name...

You only graduate from High School once, all parents wait out those years in hopes to see their child walk across the stage. These kids did not hurt anyone, in fact, they brought laughter and smiles to many faces....including school staff, I am sure. Make them work community service, our community has plenty of that available now. Every year seniors graduate and there is always at least one who dies soon after graduation. God forbid that happens to any of these students.....let their parents watch them walk across the stage! Also, if one of your teachers can joke about it with a fishing pole, makes it look really bad that they are getting such harsh punishment. Just my thoughts

"How the event was RAN!!!" I congratulate you for taking the time and effort to organize this, and your kind words of encouragement to the band, but your comment would have been more effective if you had proofed it or had someone check the grammar before posting. I think I may have a clue why our children's academic achievement is so low in this state. You certainly are not the only one with these kinds of mistakes commenting here.
