I hope the ride was worth it for driver. It would of been nice to see the police use some stick used on the punk to get him thinking again.

if your going to run from the cops you should learn how to drive..............

Let that be a lesson: an expired tag may result in the use of deadly force.
|
|
What do you mean by that? Are you implying the officers did something wrong? |
|
|
"Attempting to elude" should be an automatic Felony. Mandatory loss of license, Mandatory jail time. You've got NO right to run and endanger other citizens or Officers.

WOW, this is one for Cops on Court TV, whata picture!

Frank..it wasn't the expired tag that got deadly force...he ran for some reason right. Obviously there was more to it for him than just an expired tag. Use common sense.

While I agree that eluding the police is not a good thing to do and the recklessness of the behavior could have injured or killed someone. I do not agree that it should be a felony.(as it currently is) Every one is so fed up with crime and death they could puke, so I do understand why so many scream and yell about making everything a felony. Our prisons are already so overcrowded that we can barely control them. We have Women being released after only serving 5 years on a life sentence for murdering their own child.(WTF) Yet we have people in prison who sold an ounce of weed and are spending the rest of their literal life locked up, even though they are a non-violent offender. Please People stop calling for America to become a Police State! it wont be long before having more then one child, or attending church on Sunday is a Felony with Mandatory Jail Time! |

ThePatriot...come on make realistic comments...Felony for having more than one child or attending church....whatever.

HE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO MAKE STUPID DECISIONS, AND SO DO YOU. YOU SHOULD HAVE WENT TO SCHOOL AND BECAME A JUDGE, SO YOU THEN CAN DICTATE WHAT "RIGHTS" A PERSON HAS. IT'S NOT RIGHT, BUT HEY WHEN DID YOU START LIVING IN A PERFECT WORLD, WITH PERFECT PEOPLE?!?!?!? WE ARE HUMAN, WE MAKE MISTAKES. SOME MORE COSTLY THAN OTHERS. JUST PRAY THAT YOU WON'T HAVE TO ENCOUNTER NOTHING LIKE THIS. |

ThePatriot,
I agree with you! I do think there should be an automatic punishment for eluding police though...b/c you don't run unless you have something to hide. I'm just not sure our state and/or country has the means to follow through with such enforcement |
That is realistic! In fact its not far from the truth. In fact many countries in this world have those exact laws. America is falling right in line with them. We have allowed our freedoms to be taken away and we continue to do so. Were simple consumer driven sheep herded by our own government. Even Ben Franklin predicted this democracy would not last more then 200 years. |

Troopers rock! Any idea why he was running, drugs, drunk, mad at his wife or just nutty? God Bless!

lol.. uhhhhh, is there NOT an "automatic punishment" for eluding the police!? I haven't heard of anyone not being charged for evading the police when they evade the police. What the heck are you guys talking about?
And to "DOIN IT BIG": no, you don't have a right to run from the police.. stupid @sses put innocent lives at risk when they run. You have rights defined in such things as the BILL OF RIGHTS, and I don't think "right to run from the PO'leece" is in there. Go DO IT BIG somewhere else and crash your f#@^!# hoopty into a telephone pole while running from the cops because you have an ounce of weed that would get you in jail for a week, then you can sit and rot for a few months. I swear people get dumber every day. |
Eluding can be both. 21 O.S. 1991,§ 540A is a Misdemeanor, 21 O.S. 1991,§ 540 B&C are Felonies. The reason our prisons are over-crowded is because we treat them like college students. Make prison a deterrent, not a way of life. Bring back chain gangs, make them WORK! And yes, I agree, If a weekend toker is doing "hard-time" thats not right. But, we're allowing a "game" to be played with eluding. It puts to many lives at risk. Instead of spike strips, officers should be issued RPG's. There's a deterrent! |

If only Tulsa Police would issue tickets for expired tags in Tulsa! The fines could pay for more cops or streets! Has anyone noticed how many illegally parked cars, expired tags there are in this city? And no special equipment is needed to notice them.

What if the headline would have read "High Speed Police Chase Ends With Arrest and the deaths of several innocent bystanders"? Are petty crimes really worth 100 mph chases through city streets that so badly endanger the general public? I think not. Thankfully there wasn't a group of kids crossing the street somewhere having the 25 John Wayne cop cars taking them out one by one.

|
Well, I wont argue with you a bit on that one. I say bring back a lot of the old school methods for deterring crime. Including busting your kids butt when they do wrong. |

hope they put him in the same cell with one of those molesters,
