I am currently a student at a local vo-tech attending school for my A&P license. Tinker has an internship program in which they hire graduating students directly through the school. As soon as this bond was passed this program was terminated. The letter, titled "Future Hiring Projections - A&P Technology Program" was sent by certified mail on 5-15-08. It was originaly dated 5-1-08. Its obvious that Tinker wanted to wait until this bond was voted in before they dropped a bombshell on us. In short the letter reads like this... " After much thought and deliberation, the 76th Maintenance Wing has relayed their decision to the Civilian Employment Office to suspend the A&P technology hiring. Regretfully, we will not have the opportunity to consider hiring your current student population." So much for creating jobs!
