You are an idoit. I bet you have never been to oklahoma. we have enough people to fill an 85,000 stadium every saturday in norman and at the same time fill at 50,000 staduim in stillwater. Tulsa is a hour and a half drive from OKC and has nearly as many people. I hate how people sterotype places they have never been. Moron.

Why do you think that Oklahoma does not deserve an NBA team? Oh, I'm quite certain there is a very strong possibility that they are moving.
Haven't you heard the saying "Build it and they will come", well let's just say "Bring them and They (the people) will come!

excuse me, Mr. Larry Jones has a great orginaztion. I remember, after the May 3rd, 1999 tornado how every Oklahoman was helping those that got hi by that massive F 5 tornado. Plus, Mr. Larry Jones sent those trucks to New Orleans after KATRINA, or did you forget?!
I agree with you, the tickets are going to be extremely expensive. If I say it once, say it again. The OKC voters f*cked themselves, and have no one to blame but themselves. Been to 4 Blazers home game this past season, and the FORD CENTER does NOT need a upgrade. what needs a upgrade is the MAYOR. He needs to be recalled. Put someone else, in there.

bitch all you want Seattle. We got your team by the balls. They're coming here, we're gonna develop and the Sonics are gonna become awesome. We have like 5+ first round picks over the next two years, something your former dumbass owner couldn't pull off. When Durant and Green actually experience what having fans is like and having new talent around them, they'll resign and stay here. You dropped the ball, we picked it up. Nice pass=)

to many other problems in OK City and Oklahoma that need to be addressed ASAP.........

Our roads crap city wise and state wise!
Our state cops we are short on big time!
City cops OK C we are short on big time!
Bus service is crap and goes NO where!
Crime is up 9% from this time last year!
Still out 19 Million on Bass Pro coming to OK City WE tax payers paid for! I guess some forget where the money went and not paid back!
300 million to schools lol they only got 63 million sofar and still shor on supplys to teachers to there pay!
Yes we have other problems that need to be addressed NOW.

The list of what needs to be fixed goes on year after year and the city and state puts there money and taxpayers money where it does not need to be put!
and most are worried about football and NOW the NBA SAD:

Okay i didn't vote for bass pro. All kidding aside, this is good for us. I'll go to plenty of games. Filling up the Ford Center won't be a problem. Unemployment?? Listen, I work around all of these unemployed people all the time. They're unemployed because they decided to drop out of school, or have anger problems and keep getting fired. Yes there are sad cases when people don't have a choice or are laid off, but that happens everywhere. The roads, we've passed like 3 bills in the past 4 years to improve the roads, this isn't taking away from that. Schools? We're a republican state, and their platform is to put a computer in the class room so the damn kids can have powerpoint instead of just write their notes like we used to, rather than pay the teachers more. NO teachers stay here after they graduate cause you get paid absolute crap. The NBA will bring revenue, bigger business, and greater interest from bigger companies to move to a bigger city. There's a reason we're the #45 market.

oh, and please God, not the OK Land Runners. I know its corporate, but OKC Energy is cool with me. Its safe and doesn't make us look like rednecks. I'm an oklahoman born and bred, I'm not redneck at all. So don't all you cowboys n girls come on here and say that we are.

I've read alot of comments describing what Oklahoma needs to do (i.e. improve roads, schools, create more business, create more jobs, ect.) Why do you think it's so important for the Sonics to come to OKC? So that we have the oppurtunity for growth in business and jobs. The Sonics are good for the community, morale, the economy, not to mention they'll be contenders after all the first round draft picks they've aquired. People in Oklahoma support OU/OSU likes it's life or death. So I would imagine the same would go with a pro team. I know I'll support the heck out of the Sonics if they come to Oklahoma. If it's progress we're striving for in OKC, then why not start with a pro team to get the city some national recognition for something other then a bombing.

I never went to a Hornets game while they were here. Mainly because I knew they were not going to be our team. I'm glad they made the playoffs after they left here, they became a team while they were here but they didn't do anything for us except prove that we can handle a professional team. With our own team that I know we can call our own (Oklahoma City not New Orleans OKC) I'll be a fan of because I support my city.
And you Seattle people need to be more mature, if it really bothers you that bad that we are getting your former team maybe you should have shown them more support and voted to improve your stadium. Instead, you didn't and lost your team tough luck go watch the Seahawks get beat some more, and the joke that is the Mariners.

I've lived in both the Seattle area and the Oklahoma City area and I do think OKC deserves a professional team. However, I don't think the Sonics should move down to OKC, but get an expansion franchise. OKC wants to have major league exposure, but let us see what it is like 30 years from now in OKC when they may have more than one professional sport in town and the citizens are blackmailed every 10 years or so to either cough up tax dollars or have your team relocated. So let us have a little perspective before we make an opinion. Great attendance for two years proves nothing in the long run.

The team should be called the storm. In Oklahoma, we are known for the weather and makes good sense for a team name. I am not sure why anyone would NOT want an nba franchise here. We supported the hornets with 98% attendance. If you do not like basketball, don't go! All I can say to those of you that are in Washington and lost your team, Sorry!!! I guess you should spend less time at star bucks and more time making sure your long time franchise is happy and does not want to leave!!!!

I would too, but we do not possess the tv market for an NFL franchise. NBA basis things on attendance and NFL focuses on tv ratings.

WOW!!! that was great. I could have sworn this was about a NBA team name... Wasn't it??? It seems we lost track of the big picture. The average US citizen could care less about what is goin on. Local or the federal level. Until America takes charge of their own actions, we are doomed to continue the same mistakes.. The whole point is.... This is for naming a NBA team, not a political arguement!!!!
