This is exactly why a woman needs to decide about abortion...I agree that birth control should be the first line of action..why do they make that so expensive that poor people can not get it? But a woman that finds herself with cild should know what shse is capible if doing this should not be so much trouble to obtain. Want more kids to end up MURDERED by DHS or some foster family in it for the cash and not the welfare of the children! The government needs to stay out of this just like healthcare!!!!!!!!!!DHS is crap always has been.
Exactly what is the difference? Murder by abortion, or murder by DHS. Crying foul against DHS "Murdering" children by poor protection and/or care is one thing, but to say it is in some way worse than murdering children directly through abortion is just lunacy.

Murder is Murder.

Murder is the taking of another life by force. Is that not exactly what abortion is?

I also pray for the health of the mother of the twins. I don't have a clue who she is, but I am so proud of the way she handled things. They were well protected from bleeding to death as well as being kept warm and dry until she could get help to them, I have no doubt that she was probably watching from a distance to be sure that they were found within a period of time. I also live in Shawnee and there are places around this station where she could have observed things

It should be DIHS instead of DHS. Department of Inhumane services.

I have serious issues with any chick that would have sex with a dude that can't "afford" a rubber! I agree with you about the goverment control of healthcare but your logic on this issue is a bit awkard at best. How is birth control expensive? How is it expensive compared to the cost of an abortion? Abstinence if free my friend, and there is no psycological side effect, taxpayer burden or dead baby. Yes, she made a difficult decision but her mistake had already been made before the babies were born. I can here the nay sayers now, "Birth control doesn't always work". Yeah well parachutes don't always open either, that's why I don't jump out of planes! If you're not prepared for a baby (or two) then don't jump out of the plane!

My wife and I would gladly adopt these children. I have placed two calls to DHS since learning of this situation but haven't heard back from them. I plan on calling again in the morning. If anyone has any connections at DHS, please feel free to point them in our direction, I can be reached by email: [email protected]

Why are they trying to go after this woman? This was probably one of the hardest decisions in her life. It is law you have 7 days to take your newborn child to a fire station, police station, hospital. Let the woman be and spend the money and resources finding these kids a good home.

This mother did the hardest thing that any parent could do.. My heart goes out to her...
Those babies are total Angels so beautiful.. It would be wonderful if DHS found them a home together.. I really hope DHS trys really hard to keep them babies together, the bond between twins is very strong, and the fact that since no family has come forward the only family they have is each other..
I fully agree with Oklahoma29, leave the woman alone, if she wanted to be known she would have left a name and such.. She has not broke any laws, and she made a hard choice, instead of spending the time finding her spend time in finding these babies a good home, and try your best to make sure these children are together..

I believe this woman did what she thought was best. I do not think I could have done it but then again thankfully I have never been in this situation. As far as the people saying birth control is too expensive this is just not the case. Your local health department can supply you with birth control and all of the products to prevent pregnancy. Being broke does not constitute being irresponsible or even being stupid if you cannot afford birth control then maybe you should have a little less sex and focus your attentions on finding a job.

Absolutely! The article states "the mother may not be arrested since Okla law states an infant can be surrendered up to 7 days old.." well if that's the law why are they even attempting to locate her? She obviously doesn't want to be known or she would not have dropped them off and left. At least she did the right thing by placing them somewhere safe and notifying someone to let them know to rescue them versus placing them in a plastic bag while still alive and throwing them in a dumpster which seems to be the common practice....I can guarntee you that if they locate the woman-she will be in a world of trouble and that is the only reason they want to find her. The law was made- now respect it for Gods' sake!

That's gonna be weird for black kids to have the last name Rohrscheib. LeBron and Shanequa Rohrscheib just doesn't have the ring to it that LeBron James or Shanequa Johnson does.

Does anyone know how their birthdates will be determined? I mean, you can look at them and see they are about a week or so old. When they get older they cant say I was born on or about 05/01/10.

Their embilical cords were tied with rubber bands, so they were probably just a day old or so. Let's call it May 1st and not worry about it. Whatta ya say there Chris?

That had to be a good and loving mother. She made sure that the babies were safe. So many mothers today would have cared less if they lived or died. My prayers goes out to the babies and the mother.

I am disgusted that ANY news channel would air her 911 call! That was a horrible thing to do. The mother had a to make a very difficult and painful decision and you go and remind her of what was probably the worst day of her life! Shame on you channel 4, shame on all of you news channels. This should've NEVER been a news story - she did what she was supposed to do by law by leaving those kids in a safe place and all anyone can do is talk about how it is questionable if charges should be brought against her. Ruin it for others who may need to do this - make then afraid of this option and we'll start finding dead babies in trash cans again. GET OFF THIS WOMANS BACK!!!! Bless her heart - she's been through enough. I called channel 4 today because I wanted to complain about them airing the call and was passed on to a rude man - all he could do is say it is a matter of public record and hung on me - WOW! I did call right back and spoke to a woman who apologized and said she would have someone call me back(which no one ever did). Is this how channel 4 does things? I will not be a loyal viewer after today! There are other issues around us to talk about other than this poor womans anguish.

You lost a loyal viewer today airing that 911 call. Who makes these decisions on what gets aired? Is it the same men who are against abortions? I can't believe you would put that on air even if there is no identity, she knows who she is and that being played over and over and over again I am sure is just mean torture. Shame on you Channel 4

The real shame is that I heard the police are wasting taxpayers money attempting to find the mother. What happen to she was doing the right thing?
Put the shame in the correct place.
I am sure Channel 4 wont miss you!

The choice was made when she chose to have sex. End of story. These babies are here for a reason and are every bit as important as any one of us! May God watch over them each and every day of their lives.
