Joe Soucheray: A few more nosy neighbors might make us safer

Full story: TwinCities.com

We need more snoops. I was struggling to put it a different way, but the sage of Fulda, Minn., a sportswriter and radio host, came up with the idea that we need more snoops.

Shoot, the "President" will not allow his people to call terrorism, terrorism. But the thing that really bothers me is that the Army, who had endless examples of this Hasan guy being a terrorist, and yet they still let him work on our soldier's coming back with mental problems. This is really sick. Can you imagine what this Jehadist was telling our brave soldiers? I hate to even think about it. Makes me want to vomit.

Amen, Joe. Thanks for expressing so well what I believe many of us are thinking and feeling. Somewhere along the way "PC" morphed from "politically correct" to "psychologically castrated." We're soooooo very afraid of offending anyone's beliefs or personal habits, et cetera...that we turn our backs on obvious signs of just plain wrongness. And there ARE still things that are inherently right and wrong, regardless of the religious or other value system to which they are held for inspection. Someone needs to remind us of that -- thanks for doing so.

Joe is absolutely right about this. Neighbors should think of themselves as the "first responders" in emergencies and when something is chronically terribly wrong. Don't assume that if there was a problem someone else would be dealing with it. Someone else is waiting for you to tell them there is a problem!

Daily Horoscope for December 3

Scorpio

This is not the easiest day for concentrating on what needs to be done, whether tackling those Christmas cards and letters, writing out a list of jobs, or getting on with other urgent work. Mental activity seems to be blocked, as Mars is slowing and Mercury is under cosmic pressure. Take some time out for meditation, or reflection, and let your subconscious do the work.
