Jerry Barcus, East Liverpool Ohio, fire chief

As I posted in another forum, I feel it is a dirty shame what the Mayor has done to this man. I had the honor of meeting Mr. Barcus several years ago on one of my many visits to your area. I make it to east liverpool about 3 to 4 times a year, I have several friends there. I read your local newpaper the "Review" on line
so the more I read about Mr. Barcus and the unfair treatment he was getting from City Hall the more mad I got, and that lead to this posting.

Mr. Barcus has won awards for saving people lives, he is at work day in and day out doing the job that no one in city hall wants him to succeed in.

How can anyone go to work each day, knowing that the big shots want's you out. I for one don't understand it at all. Is it because he is an older man, I hope not. I believe it's because he stands up to them for you the people of East Liverpool to give you the protect you need from the fire dept. and yet it those same people that do not speak up on his behalf, shame on you. I wish I lived there so I could vote, let me tell you, I would do everything in my power to see that not one person in city hall would have a job. I say clean them out, they are their for the pay check and not you the person paying for their homes, and cars.

Wake up east liverpool and tell city hall your tired, they need to fix the roads and get companys to come into your town.

and be sure an stand up for the man that has stood up for you, Jerry Barcus let city hall know you think what thay have done to him was wrong and they need to just do their job, fixing up east liverpool.

I would like to make a comment on Jerry Barcus' situation. I keep up with the local news through the internet and I think it's a shame what the Safety Service Director is trying to pull. I have known Mr. Barcus most of my life and know he is an honest, hard working and dedicated civil serveant. He loves our town, the people and especially the job. Who is this SSD? What gives him the qualifications to do the job? I still have a few friends back home (a couple work at city hall)and they tell me he wasn't much of a clerk and then all of a sudden the Mayor makes him the new SSD. They were pretty shocked. With this guy as SSD and the Mayor backing him, I would be real worried about my job if I worked for the city.If they can do this to the fire Chief who's next? The citizens of E.L.O. need to call city hall and complain about the way they are treating the chief and to let him concentrate on doing the job he loves. Protecting the citizens and property of E.L.O. I have to admit I had to chuckle what I read what this was all about but like I said, the Chief is an honest man. If he called the SSD a rectal orafice then maybe he is. Since him and the Mayor are so close what would that make him?

glad someone reads the posting. It is a shame the way Mr. Barcus is being treated and for what, to make the major or the SSD look good. I wish I could tell them a few things myself. I have written the governor of Ohio and express my views, its a shame more are not doing that right now.
Injustice is the name of the game in east liverpool city hall I guess we will set back and see who is next in line.

I hope they all get what they deserve.

Jerry Barcus has been pushed to the end of the road and we are left with out a outstanding fire chief. We have set back and let City Hall tell us what to do and how to do it and did nothing.

all the post on here go to the band of something that is not going to change our way of life here. People that have gave their lives to this town are being pushed aside because of some sefl center official. It makes me sick to see what they have done, the Mayor and his side kick need to go not Jerry Barcus.
