Seriously? The police chief as city manager? What a mess. Let's elect Gavin Blair to council.

That's why we call it BICKERINGTON. I have lived here for 5 years and have never seen anything like it anywhere else I have lived. Code violations are rampant and when the city manager tries to enforce the code, the residents get mad, .....the city employees get mad, .......and the complaining parties are mad that work is not done fast enough..... Where the city meets the country, you are going to have some residents who think that they can park their boat, RV etc. on their own property. This is in violation of city code. The man was in a NO WIN situation. Good luck to Mr. Hansley, and may he find another job in a city where everyone is not always bickering.

Good job Pickerington! Now, take the next logical step and replace the council with a bunch of firefighters.

Makes about as much sense as a community organizer attempting to be a President! How's that workin out?

Chief Taylor is a good man and will do fine in the temporary role of City Manager. Lets all voice our minds next Tuesday at the election booth. Right now Tony Barletta and Gavin Blair have my vote and Jeff Fix won't get mine. Not sure who else to vote for! Nikki and Crisitie are both never heard or seen from.

Nick, obviously you are not smarter than the last nitwit whom occupied that office. This is a breath of fresh air.

The mayor, city council, and Director of Zoning ought to be next. Never seen such incompetence in a place this size. Leadership in this community cares not a dime about local business...as one can easily tell by the vacancy rates and lack of business serving the community

It makes sense that if the police chief is the one who has filed in for the city manager when they go on vacation then he would be a good choice for interim city manager. I'm glad that the city is going through a thorough search process rather than being in a hurry to fill the position by just jumping at the first person that applies or appointing someone internally. It looks to me like the mayor and the majority of city council are going about this in the right way.

You are right about code violations being rampant, Tim Hansley is directly responsible for this. The rampant code violations began about the same time he did last year. I know Tim personally, he is a very likeable guy, but honestly is a terrible manager. He wants everyone to like him and that is the problem. He doesn't know how to discipline slacker employees. If you think there are no slacker employees in the government you either are one or are smoking some of Zeb's herbal delight. I wish Tim the best but, like the city of Dublin, Pickerington had no choice but to fire him. I wish him the best but know in my heart he could not do the job. The Mayor and Council did him a big favor by taking the high road and not publicly embarrasing him for the very poor job he did. They now are being criticized by a few people, many of whom don't even live in Pickerington, for acting professionally. Jeff Fix is complaining the loudest hoping this will get him back in office. Intelligent people can see right through this. I agree with the person posting above and I am "sick of Fix" as well. This time I am voting the "anybody but Fix" ticket. He can't wait to double my tax if he gets reelected.

Rampant code violations? Sounds really scary! At least now, Pickerington won't have anymore violations to worry about.
