It is what it is if you have been watching the news/seeing polls/keeping in touch with reality ( all could be biased or false) you would see that thee is a large group of peaple /states and yes govt employies not to mention law enforcement who do not like gun control as it is being pushed' not all peaple think as you Freedom of speech and assembly is something that you do not support as they do not follow your sheep thinking. The problem your not even in the feild. Like you they have a right to voice their opinion and try for a change or at least kno how the peaple who they are suppost to be represented feel. If everybody does their job to the best of their abilities and how their states(peaple)feel it will be what it will be.That will be to your liking or not Hopefully the will of the peaple not a agenda unsupported of a few.The law has been made in the past that did not work and were repealed. I hope reality does not come back to bite you We have and had some of the hardest gun laws in the country peaple obeyd or did not obey them. You can not legislate honesty and who obeys the law. A police state is not far off it has been tried in other placs with loss of life and liberty. You arein the wrong country and time Black shirt late 30's

The guns of good, honest, hard working, tax paying Americans will never kill anyone. We don't need a law to get us to do the right thing. The killer and rapist in Clay N.Y. broke many laws. Do you think one more would have stopped him? We have lots of gun laws already. Enough is enough. The laws will only effect good people. If someone is willing to murder I don't think that they will stop because of a gun law. That would be like not being able to get away after you rob a bank because you won't break the speed limit. Use your head. Taking my gun even if it will shoot 1000 rounds per minute won't save anyone. My guns aren't used to kill people. Some golf some bowl some fish some love cars. I like guns. It is a harmless hobby.

Aren't there enough dumb people in Gouverneur already? We don't need stupid outsiders coming here to protest and swell the ranks of the retarded. Plus, many of them will be packing heat. A good day to avoid Gouv-manure.

Thre is nothing wrong with having a opinion as long as it i not forced on others. The majority of the peaple do not like being taken out of the loop when someone never asks them what they think. They are big men and women who can speck for them selfs. Let the full process of govt of/ for the peaple be heard. Should ny with some the hardest gun laws need more when the ones they have are not enforced maybe maybe not but it would be nice if somebody would have asked. It is peaple not guns that make the judgement to act/ you can not change a persons mind set by making a law and jut say change. To force them against their will will require the same force you are afriad of. More control by those who have not done such a good job so far. Another opinion given without hopefully trashing someone elses idenity.

That is the correct way to respond to one person's post so not to offend other people. I realize if I respond to a fool then I am giving you my audience, but your statements on others and their right right to want to revoke this obsurd law was recognized. As they say - we are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid and I can see you have the highest degree. These laws will now make it so thousands and thousands of law abiding citizens, who go to work, pay their taxes, and concerned about their children’s future, will now be considered criminals if they choose to stand up for the Second Amendment Rights guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution. Just give them the right and keep your ignorant statements to yourself.

A majority of Americans support an assault weapons ban and restrictions on the size of magazines. 2nd Amendment does not grant unfettered access to any and all weapons. It does not preclude those or other proposed restrictions. Weapons of all types can and should be regulated. To argue otherwise is idiotic.

No disrepect but where do you get your facts and figures the polls I have seen nationally and statewide show different numbers. In the way of fairness I would like to see those posts. We all know bias exists in reporting on both sides but appears there is more peaple coming out against making themselves known than supporting it.Then Again media can be biased All I have ever wanted is a real voice of all the peaple for in the end it is the peaple who will obey or disobey the laws as written as with the laws already on the books

I think your view of public opinion is affected by group think. You live in a large, rural county. Most people live in urban counties. Just because most people around you think the way you do about a particular subject, does not mean most Americans have the same opinion. So you incorrectly conclude the government is acting out of step with public sentiment, when it is not. A clear majority favor increased background checks, and new restrictions on assault weapons and magazines.

I approve this message!! Great to read someone with actual facts.

I don't pretend to be a consitiutional lawyer or legislator therefore I am not appropriate to debate on what's consitutional or not.

I care about the Human beings that are being murdered by guns and laws to limit death caused by guns are not being federally made.

Sir all I asked for is where you get your facts what tv show/national poll/spokesman/survey/ news network/law enforcement agencys/etc. Like I said facts and figures can go both ways depending on who reports it. In the biggest arguement about guns types limits and such is man inhumanity to man it is the only constant in all arguements of killing by govt or individuals. A peice of paper more on the pile that is there is no good if the peaple/person will not obey it.Killing existed a long time before guns. Man has always come up with a way to kill on a mass scale or not. taking away a gun or limiting it will not take away the mind set to do damage.
