1. If my car was stolen at a gas station, then one would assume I was *INSIDE* at the gas station buying something. When I go outside and my car is stolen, what do I do?

I run inside and say, "Call the police, my car has been stolen."

2. If I decided NOT to call the police, why would I walk all the way to Ogdensburg? Wouldn't I call someone to come pick me up? I'm lazy - I ain't walkin' 20 miles at night on a back road highway.

I mean, some idiot might hit me with their SUV.

3. If someone DID steal the car - one would believe that they would have prints all over the vehicle of another driver. Obviously the car owner's prints will be all over the vehicle as well.

I can't imagine what those poor parents are going thru. My heart goes out to those people, having children of my own I can't and don't want to ever go thru something like this. Praying that the police will find the guilty person as soon as possible. I can't imagine how the person that did this can live with themselves and not come forward and own up to what happened and deal with the consequences of their actions.I truly hope they find him as soon as possible. My deepest condolences to the parents, my prayers go out to you.

No parent should ever have to bury their child. How sad, I hope justice is served when they do make an arrest in this situation. God bless the young mans family.

here is the million dollar question...if your car was stolen a few hundred yards from where a hit and run occurred and you noticed the car gone about an hr after someone had been killed inthat hit and run..why even bother to use a phone...there were mega troopers and sheriffs just a few hundred yards from where it was stolen! he could have just walked down the road and reported it to the troopers who were at the crime scene.give it up and do the right thing....turn yourself in and let that family have some peace. But thanks to you that little bit of peace will never ever replace their family member..COWARD!

This boy needs to come forward and take responsibility for his actions. It could mean the difference between a minimum /plea bargain sentence or the max. Judges can be lenient or harsh. A person that steps up to the plate, admits they did wrong and accept responsibility could spend 7 or so years in jail compared to 20. It is not to late. When NYSP is kicking in your door, it will be to late. Do the right thing. Tick Tock. You are running out of time.......

Sir/Mam you could not have said this any better! If he's been involved with the law at all he'd come forward like a man and take responsability for his actions and that may prove to the judge that he is a man and they'd probably give him the least sentence, but if they have to chase him around then he'll be facing the max!

I know it totally looks like Devon did it and I agree with all of you. However there is a chance he is telling the truth. That's how are system is set up. They have to have proof even if they know. It's not what you know it's what you can prove. If someone can commit a crime and the police can't convince a jury than yes they can get away with it. They can't just arrest someone because they know they have done something. Look at the oxley case and all the taxpayer money it wasted. I doubt the burg or the county wants to go through that again. If you don't agree with the system than go debt Devon yourself and stop complaining about the cops.

None of this is passing the common sense test. And, when forensics come back, we will see. The vehicle has already been processed. There is obvious DNA of the victim on the vehicle (blood, hair, tissue). Now, what about the interior?? Door handles, steering wheel, gear selector. All of that is going to be fumed for prints. And, vehicles today have black boxes (flight recorders). Yes, big brother is watching. The NYSP has already pulled the box and downloaded all of the information. Times the vehicle was started, braking, lights and GPS coordinates. All of it. How would you vote if you were seated on a grand jury??? A single piece of evidence may mean nothing. But, a accumulation of evidence that paints a picture. Well, that could be overwhelming. I anticipate either an arrest or a sudden grand jury indictment very soon.

I think the person was referring to OnStar. I believe they can also track movements of cell phones as well?

In Detroit, this would not make the news. The gang bang slaughter of black on black daily does not get mentioned at all unless your Ted Nugent. So, why a big deal here?

It's sad that that happens on a daily basis, in detroit , but I guess that's the normal there....if you care so much move there and write a forum about it daily .....that will keep you busy and with something to do ....

Anyway I knew the kid that got hit and killed by some scum bag piece of shit..I've been reading these forums and it seems that not many people have anything nice to say about this SUV owner/driver ..if that many people have so many of the same negaitie comments it must prove this losers character........ It makes me suspicious of him.

What the hell does this have to do what is happening in other parts of the Country. Their is more people in Detroit than we have
in all the areas north of Watertown (including Watertown). Why didn't you mention Mexico City as well. What an idiot. What are you on anyways? I'd switch to something else as your thoughts in this matter are really messed up.

This forum is where cowards come to rant, keep that in mind. The owner of the SUV seems to be already tried and convicted on here. I will say from reading these posts that alcoholism is a disease and he clearly is a very sick individual that needs some help. i feel bad for everyone involved. NO excuse for drinking and driving however, MANY do it every day and think nothing of it,same as being impaired by pills or pot so for all you haters out there examine your own behavior behind the wheel.

Your basing a man's reputtions a group of psuedo intelligent people that are so weak minded that they can not even write under their own name. Whether or not Devin did this should not be tried in the court of public opinion but rather let both families deal with whatever happens as a family. This forum should cease to exist and let people heal.
