Review: Appliance Solutions By Brock's

This is a review regarding Miele and Appliance Solutions. To preface, I never write negative reviews online because I carefully research vendors and service providers before buying anything expensive from them and so have rarely had any problems with them after the sale. However my recent experience with Appliance Solutions came about from a purchase at one of their former competitors and I was forced to deal with them.
Three years ago, I paid a considerable amount of money at EXPO for a Miele Optima Dishwasher which turned out to be the worst money I have ever spent on an appliance. I have had one issue after another and since EXPO went under two years ago, Miele told me that I had to use Appliance Solutions when the dishwasher came up with an intake valve code. Miele's service department took down my info and said they would send it onto A.S.
When the guy from A.S. finally came out a week later, he sat on my kitchen floor and spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to put the drain valve back together after taking it apart. He finally said that it was broken and that the drain hose was clogged so badly that we needed to order a new one. At the time, I did not realize that I was being charged $2 per minute for this wizard's work. After an hour, he left and told me that he would leave an open ticket because he had to order parts for the drain assembly and hose. After he left, I realized that he put the drain assembly back together incorrectly to the point that the dishwasher would not run at all. I put the assembly back together myself and also cleared out the drain hose which it seems he couldn't accomplish when he was at our home.
When A.S. called a week later to tell me that they had my new parts, I said "No thank you" and told them that my dishwasher was working at a passable level. They said fine, yet they called again a week after that to tell me that my new parts were in. I said no again and a few days later, I received a bill for $210. Broken down, labor was $120 for one hour of "work." There was a charge of $75 just for showing up, and another one for $15 just for mailing the bill to me.
I was incredulous and called them to ask if they seriously charged me $120 for one hour of work and they said yes. To put the labor charge in perspective, you would pay less to have your Mercedes worked on for an hour at Plaza Motors than you would for someone from Appliance Solutions to fix your toaster. I asked them to explain their service charge and was told that the $75 covers maintenance on their vans, their technician's valuable time and for gas. I could drive to Chicago and back for $75! I finally asked why I was paying $15 for two sheets of paper, an envelope and a stamp and was told that they have so many other customers that they have to chase down to get them to pay their bills that everyone else has to pay the price for the bill collection efforts. All I can say to this explanation is "Wow."
Bottom line, I cannot recommend strongly enough that you do not buy Miele dishwashers anywhere in St. Louis or elsewhere when I think of it and I would suggest avoiding Appliance Solutions period. Check out the numerous reviews from dissatisfied customers of Appliance Solutions on other sites and you will see that I am not alone.
