An actual foundation stabilized home beats a trailer every time. There are quite a few trailer parks in Saint Charles Country and I believe in St. Peters. Wouldn't it be better for the trailer park dwellers to live in a structure that's substantially safer in bad weather and more energy efficient?
I can remember reports of shoddy construction of new homes in Saint Charles County (in some cases entire developments). The homes built by habitat for humanity consistently win awards for the quality of materials and construction. Funny, when the greed factor is removed and charity from heart takes over how a buildings quality soars.
Someone please tell me were a well built home is not exponentially more valuable than a trailer.
A habitat for humanity house is basically worthless before first nail is driven. Why? Several reasons they put these "structures" anywhere.they will never increase in value.the hidious things are never maintained.the whole hbitat concept is a ruse .if you can afford a habi morgage ,taxes, power, phone, water, cable ,new car, gas, rims you can afford to rent or buy a decent home negating the need for decent afforable housing. So to answer question a trailer most likely is worth more just for the simple fact you can roll that S.O.B as far away from a habitat crackhouse as you please.

I am amazed at the comments posted here. There are some who "get it" and others who do not. By doing a little research and reading a few articles I found that this future home owner has served the Missouri National Guard for 13 years. This is someone who is protecting us here and abroad and she still cannot afford a home here in St. Charles County. I personally find it interesting that those who are serving the people of our community, teaching our children, protecting and helping us on a daily basis cannot afford to purchase a home.
I challenge all of the naysayers to get involved, to learn and get to know these homeowners and you might be surprised who you meet. No one who is trying to make their life better and the lives of their children better deserves this treatment.
Because so many of you have such disdain for these “unskilled” workers, I hope that if something tragic happens to you or yours that it is not a Habitat homeowner that comes to your rescue.
No anti habitat for humanity statement can be deemed racist unless they choose to "help" one group of indivduals which they deny.Have you as a habitat supporter ever went to one of these rundown slum areas and looked at the damn things? If these people are so "hard working" Why in hell are these crackdens so damn disguting??if a habitat reciepient can get a habitat morgage pay taxes, power, phone'cable, water, insurance, new car,/rims big screen tv most likely can afford safe and aftorable housing. One more thing every church going person regaurdless of faith knows you can't help others if you can't help yourself so it would be highly unlikely habitat reciepients would help me or anyone else hell they can't help themselves clean the nasty, siding falling off, overgrown grasss, crime infested shacks they "stay" in so read your habitat supplied information take it as fact . The real world will continue to lock our car doors and hold our noses should we have to pass these areas you are so proud of I find it utterly amazing

Everyone: has a right to enjoy the fruits of their labor key word labor doesn't mean symbolic man hours sanding around a habi construction site.it is gaurenteed by every american citizen its call the right to pursue life libery and the pursuit of happiness. For everyone not just ole habi receipients so everyone that has to move from their homes to get away from the filth and crime are screwed out of their financial security good luck on getting there yourself in a structure that will only most likely go way way down in value

It is amazing to me how a few narrow minded self serving racist/bigots can use such a sweeping generalization to condemn a whole group of people. You small minded poor excuses for human beings are sickening.

Let me explain something to you all.
I am educated and have a degree, I work full time plus go to school full time. I do not have a crimal record nor do my family members. We are just like you but were lucky enough to get a little help so we can have a home too. Dont judge!!!! Maybe you should get to know us a little bit better, those who judge I bet have not taken the time to come to one of the builds and help - meet families like mine - otherwise you would see we are good people!! Get off you high horse and volunteer then you will find the true meaning behind this great experience!!!!
If you are educated and have a degree why would you not use your degree together with real hard work like the rest of the world.buy a real house.if you are educated you know enough to know silly hfh propaganda when you see it.if you are educated you know hfh houses are a downhill situtation. If you live in a habi house will you ever do better, will you ever have a real house.you will sell the rinkydink hfh house at a loss it will be sec 8one day no "high horse " here just know better.8

These comments both sadden and disgust me. As a supporter of Habitat in St. Louis, I firmly believe that affordable housing is needed everywhere. The families HFH serves are hard-working families who despite working sometimes more than one job cannot afford decent housing. Many are also part time students working to better themselves while also working to make ends meet. Those making narrow minded comments could LEARN much from these indivduals.
Like what can we"learn" how to take pride in where you live ???? How about learn how not to have children you can't afford???? How about my all time favorate teach me to fix siding falling off house yeah we sure can and do learn a lot alright like how to lock doors how to press charges and how to avoid such nasty, filthy crime areas. If these areas are so full of upstanding and productive members of the communities why would they look like they do????????

Only facts to read are generated by habitat for humanity. If the only facts to read about me were generated by me you would think I am either the pope or ghandi
