What's better for a family - Dish Network or Direct TV?

depends on what you want. both are overpriced and disappear in rain and heavy clouds, or snow, or sunspots. netflix is there as long as you have an internet connection. costs a lot less too

I'm a tightwad and won't pay for television. I have over-the-air antenna (free HD) and watch week old episodes of new shows on their websites. It's great not being tied to a provider for television, especially when they're subsidized by commercials anyway. If cable/satellite were commercial free I'd consider paying, but I'm not paying them to advertise to me.

Good call! I went with Dish but I'll have to remember that!
