Quality of Life Aspect? explain what you are really worried about? We have good schools, we have sports, we have hunting, fishing, dirt roads, typical boy stuff that most of the girls around here join in on too. Kids around here just like to be kids. ATV's, 4WD's, hunting & fishing. They work the farms to help their parents or to make money by helping others. There is plenty here for them to do and be well rounded individuals.

Welcome to Baxley, Mic.
First and foremost, please do not judge Baxley based on the people who generally post on this site. I rarely post and only occasionally monitor this site. I moved here from a large city 5 years ago. The quality of life is excellent here. It is a slow pace of life with very little of the rat race I experienced in the last place I lived. As for your boys, it may be a bit of a culture shock at first but we have good schools, good kids and I believe there will be adequate extra-curricular opportunities. The things I miss most about the big city are the grocery stores and restaurants. If Baxley had a better grocery store, a couple of good restaurants and a comprehensive liquor store (lol) I'd never leave.
Let me know if you have specific questions...

Been in Baxley, Ga. five years, moved from Atlanta, and it was a culture shock. My youngest child graduated High School and we moved here at the end of that Summer, I think he is still in culture shock. Lol. We relocated here because of my husbands job and he loves it here. My husband grew up hunting and fishing which is a life style here. I do not hunt and fish nor eat wild game. I miss shopping at Publix and Kroger, going to Dillard's at the Mall. I hate being here on holidays and miss my family very much. On the other hand I have met some really good friends. Our church is awesome and our church family is great as well. Good luck with your relocating I pray everything will go smooth.

I moved here a few years back from Michigan. It is different here, but it is a great place to live. There are a lot of things I just don't worry about anymore living here. I have children and they have thrived in the schools here. The schools were ahead of where they left of in MI. They are all on honor roll and being challenged more than they ever were up north.
They all really enjoy schools here and have made some great friends. I have been so happy with the staff and the standards set in the schools. It is stricter and more conservative here. You are moving to an area where the kids are taught and EXPECTED to have respect. My kids now say "yes/no, ma'am", and "yes/no, sir." It was odd to me at first, but I really appreciate the character that has been instilled in them.
The people here are so friendly and courteous.
If your kid(s) are into sports, you will be happy with the programs here. There is a lot going on and the local support is just amazing! I have been impressed.
It may be small town, but I have come to love it here. There is a lot to gain living here. I was used to big cities, but I actually prefer life here to city life now.
90 min to Jacksonville or Savannah make great day trips to bigger shopping or the ocean beaches! There are bigger towns about 40 min away if needed.
It's 3:45am so please excuse any errors in grammar or punctuation.:)
