Access ATC and AT&T suck!

I've been trying to get broadband internet at my home for years, but I'm not having any luck.

Access ATC nor AT&T care anything about potential customers. I've approached both companies in hopes of getting service and I've been turned down by both repeatedly. AT&T is notorious for their poor customer service, but ATC? They obviously make too much money if they don't care about potential customers wanting to GIVE THEM MONEY. I expected a lot more from a local company from our little part of Georgia, but I guess they are no better than AT&T.

Sorry about this rant. I just get sick of companies that don't care about the little people. It's especially sad that ATC has already gotten to this point.

Disgruntled Customer, do you readily have access to ATC or whould they have to install new lines to give you service? If the cost of new lines out way the return on their investment to service you, I see why they turn you down. Would you give service to a party that cost you money to serve? I am sure you wouldn't, neither would I.

I don't readily have access to them, but I know there is a hub only a few miles away. They told me if there were about 20 separate households interested near me they would bring the line down this way. I went out the next week and got 30 signature for a petition of access. I took that to them and they just kept backtracking on what they said to get out of it.

That's shady business any way you cut it. Definitely not what I would expect from a local Georgia company.

The kicker is that there are federal reimbursements to be had for expanding rural broadband. If there is more than enough houses in an area to support the service along with the additional reimbursements I don't see why they wouldn't expand it every where they could.

You and I both know that people signing a petition does not mean anything. Get those same 30 people to sign contracts, then you might see the line extended...

That is true, but at the same time it wasn't right for them to back on their word either.

There is a company who will place a dish outside your house to provide broadband service. I can't remember their name right now but I know they exist.
They are just right for a person in your situation.

Google "broadband satelite Hughes" and see what happens.

Hughesnet and Wildblue both offer satellite high speed internet which isn't technically broadband. I've had experience with both and while they are better than dial-up they still aren't what I'm looking form.
