This is a shame. I think if this little old lady has lived this long she deserves to be treated with respect and not treated like a criminal. What has the world come to, sad.

My mother is a resident at Saddleridge (for just over 3 years), and is very happy there. The staff and administration have been very attentive to her. This is an assisted living facility, NOT a nursing home. The resident has to be able to provide some care for herself, and there are varying levels of care that Saddleridge can provide (that the resident pays for). But once the resident surpasses the care that Saddleridge can safely and professionally provide, unfortunately, the resident must go to another facility. I know it is hard on a geriatric patient to go through any change, but if the facility where my mother was staying told me that they couldn't safely provide for her needs, would I leave her there and attempt to force them to care for my mother? I don't think so. It's tragic that this resident reached the point where her needs were greater than what an assisted living facility could provide. But it is not the fault of Saddleridge.
