I hope the people in Odessa aren't getting their hopes up too high. This company has absolutely no track record and no real products. They seem to be selling some magic 'magnetic' generator that creates no emissions and will put the power company out of business. The company they have licensed this magic magnetic technology from also seems to have appeared out of thin air. Of course there IS the synergy with the protein bars and the portable emergency rooms...

While I wish them the best, this appears to me to be another in a long line of snake oil salesmen taking advantage of our energy woes.

A little more digging shows that the corporate address for Maglev Energy (the company they are licensing the generator from) is a UPS Store mailbox in Seminole, Florida.

Manna of Utah doesn't appear to even HAVE an office, and the corporate phone numbers are cell phones.

Hmmm...

This whole business reminds me of a man named Roger Billings who was going to use hydrogen as an alternative energy source and the city of Independence,Mo.bought the whole idea. The only thing that happened was many lives were destroyed because of this man and his greed.

Yup... pure scam. Most likely to get some federal green energy money.

Did you see Ike Skelton there too? What a maroon...

I did notice that the City of Odessa hasn't given any tax incentives to this fake company. Maybe they're hoping to get a little "buzz" and a land transfer or two out of this.

But I'm thinking that not one product will ever be produced by "Manna of Utah" (that's really in Florida).

BTW.. Took me less than 15 minutes to ID the owners, their corporations, Their scammy "overunity" video on Youtube, etc.... You'd think a reporter would do a little research and put a couple facts in with the PR from a bogus company.

I must admit, I was wrong initially...I thought for sure the State of Missouri had more to do with such a big announcement than the City of Odessa. But color me wrong, in fact this farse could not even get state or federal stimulus money to fund their organization. The City may not be giving tax incentives...but they are issuing the bonds to fund this debacle. I'm glad some of us are savvy enough to do our own research. Apparently you don't need that ability to run a city. As an excited/concernced resident of the City of Odessa, I actually attended the "news conference" yesterday hoping to get some answers to questions I had after doing my own research. Unfortunately, I did not realize I was actually attending the "Tony Bamvakis for mayor campaign kickoff event". Let me see, there was no prototype for the generator that is going to be manufactured. No construction plans available for viewing. No talk of payback of the bonds. No marketing strategy discussed. No financial outlay for the company...I guess it was good I did my research before I went on the background of these people and was skeptical at best going in, and left with more unanswered questions.

Take a look (and listen) to the video on the website below. Want one in...or outside your house? And they are not going to automate assembly of these, instead they are going to hand assemble...seems reasonable, right??

I just did a little googling of my own. This company is located in a business park. their address is 10550 72nd St,STE 507 Largo, FL 33777
There is a UPS store on the same street, but it is at 10321.
I do however find it strange that a realestate company, and a plumbing company, both use the same street address and suite #.

Yikes!! Has anyone looked at this company's website? After reviewing this so called company, Manna of Utah's website, I'm afraid this annoucement is nothing more than a nasty hox on the good people of Odessa. The site looks like it was developed by a ten year old. I really hope I am wrong, I would love to see this kind of opportunity come to light for Odessa!! It would help so many people in the area. However, take a look at the Manna of Utah website....really, not looking good folks. Keeping my fingers crossed. Lord knows, we need a break!

Honestly, I really hope the Odessa city officials aren't involved in this scam. I just find it hard to believe they wouldn't be aware that these guys aren't who they are claiming to be. Perhaps this is the REAL STORY. Additionally, I'm quite disappointed that Fox4 wouldn't investigate this company a little more with an annoucement of this magnatude!

Not to pat myself on the back or anything...but I think I pretty much said the same things this article said from day one...
http://www.kansascity.com/2010/03/02/1785362/ ...
PS...who were the University's that were on board for the Research and Development facility. I guess Univ. of Minnesota and Univ. of Maryland are not going to be joining Manna's forces.
Come on Aldermen/Alderwoman and Mayor, ram this thru so you can cut your own throats! That would be a savvy political move! See how well Health Care Reform is working out in DC, kinda the same as Manna in ODMO. Can the idea and save us all. Offer something to a legit company.
