I am a new resident to Oconomowoc living on Fowler Lake. I enjoy walking the neighborhoods and around the lake daily with my dogs. Considering the obvious fact that folks living in this area are for the most part well educated, I am astounded that many do not feel they need to clean up after their own dogs deficate on the sidewalks or in someone elses yard or driveway while out walking. Please folks carry a bag. We are fortunate to have several posts with free bags just for this very purpose! Grab one and stuff it in your pocket. Use up those grocery store bags we've all accumulated.
I have wondered for months now why Oconomowoc does not have a leash-free dog excercise park when so many of us have dogs. Perhaps the above mentioned problem is why. If some can't bring themselves to clean up after their dogs, how would we sustain a clean dog park? I wonder also, if these are the same folks who after enjoying a day out on the lake icefishing, stuff their trash down a fishing hole. I cleaned many of them out. You're welcome. Yet I was so dissappointed the other day to see so much trash floating into the river from the lake at the bridge on Walnut St. Clearly some folks don't know just how fortunate they are to have such beautiful lakes in this part of WI. What is more disturbing is they lack respect for nature and for other people.
