I am a 16 year old girl and I would love to have sex offenders marked. I have two younger sisters and I'm worried for there sake. cause Once someone has a kids trust... all hell could happen. SO I say brand em' and let everyone know that they hurt a child. That they took the innosence from a child, hurt them mentally and emotionally. Why protect a creep who did what he/she did and knew that is was wrong when they were doing it?
I understand your statement...but it is not the registered offenders who need to be monitored...it is the ones who have not been caught yet, who still prey upon victims....it is unknown to many of us who these "unregistered offeners" are.
Statisticly, many fathers, uncles, brothers are the known preditor who first prey against a KNOWN victim....So why not line everyone up and get everyone tatooed as something that might happen in the future....when they do get caught.

The main purpose of this bill is to "PREVENT" another incident by tailing registered preditors...registered preditors have a GPS system....they know they are being watched...they would be less likely to then offend again...

It's the unknown "preditors" that spurs this bill on....how do you defend against an unknown?

Congressman/Representatives, go back to the drawing board....your political agenda by newsreports have fallen short....you got the media attention....now go back and make the bill right!!!

yes get them the plates. that way any child any age can be taught not to go near that car. but i think it should be extended to all cars in the family, just in case they deside to take that cruse for a child in there wifes car.

For those of you who are concerned about teenagers being targeted by laws designed to prevent sexual predators from molesting children, most states have with it called a 'Romeo and Juliet' law.
The "Romeo and Juliet" law provides for penalties when a teen younger than 19 engages in voluntary sexual intercourse, sodomy or lewd touching with a teen between the ages of 14 and 16 (provided the teens are of the opposite sex).
I don't undertand why some people are against laws to protect children. They seem more interested in preserving the rights of sexual predators. Why?
Because when you leave something like this up to the state with federal funding you are asking for trouble. The Sex Offender listings operated by the states are a nightmare. There are so many people on them that don't belong and once on it it is almost impossible to get off. You are branded for 25 years to life, do you want to be responsible for ruining innocent lives for the supposed benefit of the general public. If there is no responsibility designated to a group of individuals to keep it updated and relevant to abusers of "children" it will be useless.

I am all for protecting CHILDREN. But it has gone way beyond that now. Every state treats rapists and sexual offenders differently. Some don't even consider "date rape" as rape. They just say the girl was "used". Try to tell that to her when she spends the next few years in therapy to deal with her damaged psyche. This is a very touchy issue with everyone. True rapists are still walking the streets because they are smart enough not to get caught the first few times. Usually when one does get caught there is are multiple offenses over several years that either never got reported or were brushed off with not enough evidence to prove the case. So how do you separate the truly guilty of raping a child from the accused. I don't think the courts even get that right 100% of the time.

Family Watchdog.com a great place to look for sex offenders in your neighborhood. It has the offence and the photo of the offender. I looked for the tech ed teacher at Whitehorse Middle School in Madison, Wisconsin but Richard Raith was not on there as of now.

Gun's are for protecting yourself and family from harm, pedophiles are harmful to all. The licence plate law is too liberal for my liking.

Most sex offenses are committed by a person who knows the victim in some way, not an unknown assailant from where ever. Putting a green license plate on the vehicle is like putting a blinking blue light on a vehicle of anyone who has been caught drinking and driving. Persecuting a whole class of people instead of a case by case understanding is cruel and unusual punishment. Since most offenses are done by someone who knows the person, identifying perfect strangers is counterproductive, both from a psychological/sociological sense, as well as a political one. You will never prevent child abductions with a license plate, the idea is silly.

I suggest A implant. mirco chip into the penis-when the person gets aroused- a loud alarm will go off, and cause the person a shock to the genital area. This will keep him in line.If that don't work put him to sleep for life.
Perhaps they should do that too you.
Your a sick dude to even come up with that. What makes you think that anyone is going to let that happen to them. If they even tryed to do that to me. The people that payed the government to train me in the military would see what would happen. You people must think they are all going to line up and let that happen to them don't you?
There are 600,000 plus and rising. I would call that a force to recon with. If I saw that many targets back in my special ops days I think I would have reconsidered my options.
