Last month (March), I ordered 10 blueberry plants for my mother who lives in Wisconsin. I was told the plants would not ship until April 13th (to arrive on 15th) due to late spring freezing in Wisconsin which occur into early April. When the plants were not recieved as promised, I called American Blueberry Company and spoke to Bert (on April 16th) and was told the plants were not sent.
He said that there had been an issue converting their servers over to a new system and the order was not processed as scheduled. Bert assured me that my order would be sent on April 20th to arrive on the 22nd. It is Friday, April 24th and again no plants were shipped. I called the office numbers listed on the American Blueberry Company website (this morning) over 10 times (getting recordings or voicemail) until someone finally picked up the phone. Once again, I spoke to Bert. I asked him if the plants had shipped and he was "sure" that they had been. I asked for a tracking number to confirm the shipment, but Bert could not find one in his records. Bert spoke with the gentleman who handles the shipping to confirm the order had shipped. I could hear the shipping person in the background of the call confirming the plants did not ship as promised but he said the plants would definitely go out on Monday of next week. In consideration of the amount of negative feedback on the web involving Hare Stuart (who I'm told is a partner in the American Blueberry Company), I asked Bert to cancel my order and return the funds charged against my card for the purchase. He once again assured me the product would ship and that there were no problems with the "retail" store (which I assumed he was refering to the American Blueberry Company). I noted my concern about the missed ship dates as well as negative publicity Hare Stuart is getting on line and Bert agreed to fully credit my account for all charges today. As noted in Bert's posts on this thread, he is supportive of Hare Stuart. He says there have been issues out of their control and that Hare has been treated unfairly. At this point, I am unsure what to think, but will report back on this thread about how Bert, Hare Stuart and the American Blueberry Company handle their comittment to expeditously (today) return the money to my charge card. |

Good luck there sir. Please follow up and let us know. This situation goes back to before 2005 in MN, Wisconsin, and now Oklahoma. I hope your credit card company will back you up!
Anyone else have something to share about money paid out and stolen from you with no product in return? |

There was some confusion about the refund and the plants were shipped immediately after my conversation with Bert. When the plants arrived, they were attractive and healthy plants as promised. The plants were well packaged and took no damage in shipment.
While I was disappointed with the first two missed ship dates and I would have been more comfortable if the American Blueberry Company processed the orders directly (rather than using a Google storefront), I am pleased to have received such wonderful plants. From my experience with Bert, Hare and the American Blueberry Company, it appears that they are diligently working to honor their comittments. As a result, it is my hope that anyone else with issues will be able to get them resolved in an appropriate manner and that the American Blueberry Company will be able to put the negative press behind them. |

Sounds to me that the ABC company politely asked you to place a comment here. I wonder did they threaten you as they have done in the past with others?????

My first attempt to post did not appear to go through. Hope, I am not reposting:
Farmbelle, I was afraid that someone would think that ABC had tried influenced my post. They have not. Also, having been in the Marince Corps for 6 years, threats only make me more determined to stand my ground. I have no affiliation with ABC, Hare or Bert other than having placed an order (before I checked them out online) for 10 blueberry plants as a gift for my mother. When it appeared that they might be a problem vendor, I googled Hare and found this site. I immediatley reported my issues as noted in my first post and stated that I would follow up on how ABC resolved the situation. I have no agenda for my posts other than to relay (with integrity) my experience with ABC which as I posted was less than stellar at the start. Since my first post, my mother received the plants that I ordered. I have not seen them, but she told me that they were: 1)beautiful, healthy plants; 2)full of blooms and immature berries; 3)appeared to be 3-4 year old plants as promised by ABC; and 4)very well (with obvious care taken) packaged for shipment. I have not been approached by Bert, Hare or other ABC affiliate to provide a positive posting on this site. I have not been offered/given any discount/rebate against my purchase price for my original order and I have not been offered/given any discount against future orders. Let me make it crystal clear, I have not been offered (or given) anything other than the products and services promised against my original order. I appreciate the time and effort people have taken to post on this thread. The ability to document issues with vendors in real time is an incredibly powerful and useful tool as it gives individuals a voice and a method to hold businesses accountable for their practices. With such power comes responsibility for integrity in what is presented in the posts. I have taken great pains to be as objective/open as possible with my posts. Otherwise, my time would have been wasted and the people who need additional detail to make an informed decision would be poorly served. |

well abc apparently does actually deliver on occassion- this doesn't atone for the dozens if not hundreds of people who have been swindled by Hare- he should be imprisoned.

Hare is smart.. he keeps changing his name, his company. I've only dealt with him a short 6 months and I knew him by 3 different names. WOW.. Its amazing how he can sleep with himself at night

This guy has got to be stopped. he left a trail of rip offs in MN, then moved to WI where he ripped off more people,last year he moved to OK. I just talked to a guy in Canada who he has taken for a bunch of cash, now I heard he has set his sights on AR. This guy is a first rate con artist who uses his woe is me stories to try and explain why every person he does "business" with is owed money or product?

I have watched the comments for 6 months. I am not a complainer and usually take my lumps and get on with life.But this guy has no problem ripping people off and he has no conscience and it looks like he has no problem continuing with financially hurting people. All the negative you have read about Hare Stewart is true and it is only a tenth of it. He owes me over $40,000 and has lied to and conned at least 31 people the same way, that I know of in MN and WI. I have news paper adds from local papers where he had used at least 4 different company names trying to get people to invest in his schemes. I agree 100% with the last commenter, Hare uses hard luck stories to justify why he leaves a path of debunked business ventures and ripped off investors when the truth is in my opinion he is the worst business operator I have ever seen.
He lied to me on at least 15 occasions and has no problem doing it. Hopefully some day the law or the right person will catch up with him. The only advice I can give from experience is to protect yourself don't do business with him. |

Yahoo, they are a hot commodity! Perhaps he can use them to fill his car with bio fuel!!!! Alot of his MN "front men" lost money too. I wonder if Bert knows that now? |

I purchased a $250.00 gift certificate from Hare in July. I received NOTHING.After numerous phone calls,which were never returned,all of the phone numbers have been disconnected. My requests for a refund were ignored, and I had to go through my credit card company to get reimbursed. I am totally convinced this is a flim-flam outfit

I am glad I read this whole comment thing. I've just so happened to have gotten a job offer from Mr. Stuart. I gladly accepted, but now after reading this I have changed my mind.
