I'm thinking of moving to Ramsey. I like small towns and the less hctic lifestyle. Can anyone from Ramsey give me some good reasons to move and live here as opposed to other local towns? Work outlook? Things to do? Opportunities?
Thanks.

Don't do it Bill! No jobs, nothing to do except sit at the local gossip center err I mean cafe. There is great opportunities if you want to lay around your mobile home and watch the weeds grow up around the junk in your yard! People don't take much pride in themselves or their surrondings. Alot has changed in the last 10 years in what was once a nice small town. My suggestion is move as far away from Illinois as possible! You don't want to be stuck in this LIBERAL dump! Our "GREAT GOVERNOR" has this place a mess. Rember, VOTE; PRO GOD, PRO LIFE, PRO GUN!

You've got it right, i live in Ramsey but wish i ddn't anymore. But, we've built our house here and raised our kids in the school, have too much invested and can't afford to sell out and start over since the housing market stinks, we couldn't get enough out of our house to go towards something else away from here. We have deadbeats that moved into this town and nobody cares.
Who knows how long we live here. will probably wait and see where our kids go when their grown and then make a decision.

Springfield is about an hour away, don't know of any big corporations around the Ramsey area. It was once a nice little place to live. I grew up there and miss the way it was then. It is really a village kinda small to be a town. I moved away from Ramsey about 25 years ago. I enjoy going back to visit and always thought I would like to raise my kids there but too much has changed as i drive through the place and look around it seems like no one care's about anything there must be the young generation. use to be pretty little houses and neat yards but now is alot of junk..Don't get me wrong it is still where I call home have all my family there but wish it would just clean up.

I understand that a terrible tornado hit Ramsey some years back, It tore up the entire town..It left junk cars in front yards, left a solution everywhere that causes weeds to grow and it is virtually to cut them down, caused old buildings to almost fall down, paint to peel, pot holes in the roads, vacant lots everywhere and yards are scattered with all kinds of junk....and no one picked anything up or made repairs....
