Any single use plastic should be banned when there are other feasible alternatives. Besides, it's not just a matter of polluting landfills, those bags easily travel miles on the wind and end up in waterways. Try doing a coastal cleanup sometime and you will see how bad the bag problem can get.

Big Government functionaries are busy pointing fingers at "the enemies" in order to not let any misfortunes suffered by the hard working American people go to waste. Included among those "potentially identified" are the minority of Americans who pay taxes to support the many post 60s 70s era failed Government social and economic programs.

Among those "potentially identified" are the angry food eaters who - for one reason or another - purchase groceries from Council controlled Long Beach grocery stores. Often these hungry grocery shoppers attempt to avoid hated Lowenthal grocery and goods bag harassment taxes by standing the cost of providing their own "privately owned" disease spreading "reusable" grocery bags.

To their chagrin, this minority of Long Beach grocery shoppers who do not use expensive taxpayer funded food stamps to purchase their groceries find that those dangerous grocery bags are heavily taxed at the point of purchase. It seems clever Government tax and control masters have seen to it that there is no avenue of escape for ordinary Long Beach worker ("middle") class food eaters.

Children enrolled in expensive taxpayer funded forced Government schools often curry favor with their high paid Government agent teachers. The children often volunteer to turn in their hard working overtaxed moms and dads who they have seen entering Council controlled grocery stores with pathogenic spreading reusable Lowenthal harassment tax avoidance grocery bags.

In view of the recent bombing in Boston, shouldn't cops be stationed at the doors of Council controlled grocery stores - along with bomb sniffing dogs - for the purpose of inspecting these reusable grocery bags before permitting users to enter the stores? Wouldn't saving the life of only one little child be worth that small effort on their behalf?

It's a shame that a fellow racists who is allowing this type of open hostility to be played out during a public meeting.

A gutless racists tried to lie his way out of a West Covina, California city council meeting tonight April 16, 2013.

Feb. 05, 2013 - this pig open up his fat mouth and squealed his racist remarks.

His buddy in racists crimes against city council member's goes by the name of George Ogden, a KKK writer for the SGVexaminer.com ..

George didn't have the guts to show up this evening.

To show what a cheap and shallow person Steve Herfert is during this evening West Covina city council meetings, April 16, 2013..

Steve Herfert of the West Covina, California city council was called to explain his racists comments during a W.C. city council meeting that took place Feb. 05, 2013.

He blamed those honest Residents who came to the podium to speak out against Steve Herferts lack or moral compass and ethics a disgrace to his position on the city council and as a member of the community.

HIs equally racists buddy Mike Touhey was lurking in the shadows protected by the police department, he over saw the entire shame act put on by Steve Herfert and the current city council mayor.

Evert Glassman, West Covina, California city attorney should be stripped of his position and thrown out on his ear, Glassman has been at he center of many a legal battle in the cities he represents.

The question presented to Mr. Sykes by Steve Herfert as to why Mr. Sykes didn't for a appointed Developer, was is because the appointee was white?

For background reference Mr. Sykes is African-American, both Steve Herfert and Mike Touhey have hurled vialed racist remarks and innuendoes towards Mr. Sykes before and after he was elected to the West Covina city council.

Did you know it takes less energy to produce a plastic bag, than it takes to produce a paper bag? And their much lighter, less expensive to ship.

I like free paper bags, it shows the storekeeper cares.

Competitive minded storekeeps offering "Free" paper grocery bags is a concept still experienced in less radical cities, but in the more radical cities of California, they are prohibited from offering such services UNDER PENALTY OF REVOLUTIONARY LAW!

For example, Long Beach is home to one of the most radical of the unbelievably wastefully expensive taxpayer funded State Government university system. There, revolutionary Council has prohibited storekeeps from providing their overcharged customers "free" paper grocery bags unless they purchase groceries using expensive taxpayer funded food stamps.

Now that all opposition to tyrannical Government has ended in the State, radical Government occupiers are expected to impose the so-called Lowenthal grocery bag harassment tax statewide.

Then there was Ken Herman of the Glendora, California city council who was branded a racists with his own racists words he sent to George Ogden of the SGexamier.com newspaper.

So George Ogden chimed in with his own foul words too!

Yes. But the same radical extremist political ruling class who have criminalized caring "competitive minded" storekeeps who provide their customers convenient plastic carry bags are the same radical extremist element who previously told us we should use plastic carry bags because it saves our friends - the trees. I wonder if those loons have calculated the amount of "global warming" that is occurring because of all the oil-based fertilizer that is needed to grow the cotton that is used to manufacture the dangerous heavily taxed disease spreading "reusable" grocery carry bags.

Everyone knows that the "anti consumer" radical extremists who rule Long Beach hate competitive minded grocery store owners who offer their customers the simple convenience of providing free grocery carry bags, thereby circumventing revolutionary Council mandated Lowenthal grocery and goods bag harassment taxes.

Younger overtaxed and underrepresented Long Beachers, though, are too young to remember that the current nationwide Big Government imposed tyranny began right here in Long Beach when the 60s 70s era destructoniks (now in power) arrived along with their taxpayer funded NGO associates.

The first order of business for these miscreants was to establish legal precedence for imposed tyranny by conducting a war against "the little folks" who partake in the simple worker ("middle") class pleasure of enjoying an occasional tobacco product. Manipulative "democracy" based support was sought from the community by demonizing these decent hard working God-fearing little folks with name calling, specifically by calling them "Big Tobacco".

Since those more simple times the tentacles of the war against traditional American values have spread far beyond radical extremist controlled Long Beach. It can be reported that the revolutionary "anti-people - anti-republic" ideas that are cooked up in this radical university town are now infesting the entire nation.

Here is a link telling how radical ideas emanating in extremist controlled Long Beach are impacting ordinary citizens of one of our sister cities. It seems the politicized cops were citing a White man for the criminal offense of smoking a cigarette on a public sidewalk.

The White man insisted in exercising his God-given right to film the politically correct cop as he wasted hard earned taxpayer money making this ridiculous citation while serious crime was raging in the city. For his efforts, the only thing the White guy got was that the politicized cop arrested him and then threw him into a Government jail.

You let your politicians tell you how to carry groceries home. I left California 28 years ago, it was weird enough then, but we still had self respect.

Plastic is less expensive and there is no one forcing them to use a non-toxic bag, hence the "stupid tax". Everything that is common sense needs a tax like this, wonder where the money collected will end up though? Bet they will not use it to help the environment, anyone know?

Wise Old Owl.

During the early days of the revolution, revolutionary activists demanded - and they were granted - hard earned taxpayer money to seed activist NGOs. The intended function of those NGOs was to keep "normal" society off-balance until a voting majority of tax eaters and taxpayer supported Thug people could be engineered. The eventual goal was to ensure the revolutionary element would not only remain in power, but that power would increase as time progressed.

One of those activist NGOs demanded hungry grocery shoppers ask to be provided plastic grocery bags to carry their overpriced groceries home when given the "choice" by check-out clerks in grocery stores. As time progressed, the revolutionary political class (now in power) gained control of the grocery stores - through means of Government licensing and taxation.

In cities that are controlled by the more radical element of revolutionary activists - such as Long Beach - plastic bags themselves were outlawed. The minority of city residents do not purchase groceries with expensive taxpayer funded food stamps.(the so-called EBT cards) It is this increasingly impoverished minority who revolutionary Council requires to either stand the cost of providing their own heavily taxed disease spreading "reusable" grocery carry bags or otherwise pay the Lowenthal grocery and goods bag harassment tax that revolutionary Council has imposed.

The foot is in the door. No one believes that the Lowenthal harassment tax will remain at its "low introductory level". The big money is yet to come. That is money the politicians will see to it that goes into the pockets of those who are acting as running-dogs to keep the revolutionary tyrants in power - the NGO scam operators.
