After reading the article about the Ex-Colony developer getting a year in prison for his crime I thought. How does a 20 year old male that gives alcohol to a 14 year girl and then gets her drunk and basically rapes her, only gets 90 days in jail. We have a person giving liquor to a minor with premeditated plan to get her drunk and take advantage of a very young girl. That's statutory rape isn't it. 90 days just doesn't sit well with me for something that will haunt the girl for the rest of her life. Somethings not right there?

I am referring to a previous story in the newpaper.

Yes, but the article says that the developer abused a child for 2-3 years, not just one night. You don't know what that abuse entailed. Maybe he also plied the minor with alcohol and he obviously molested this child repeatedly if it happened over the course of 2-3 years. Also, Keith Kelly was in his 40s and it says the child was 15. That age difference is very disturbing. I'm not saying that what happened to the girl is not terrible, but you cannot compare these cases because they are not on the same level. The crime the developer committed was much more severe and deserves much more than a year in my opinion.

Can we assume "Utah Saint" is a mormon, and therefore an expert on child sex abuse?

Where are all of these "facts" about a 14 year old girl coming from? Story says a child, but doesn't specify the sex of the victim?

I'm curious what "lewdness with a chile" is. If it was one of several forms of rape, the article would have used those words.

I wouldn't even want to think what lewdness with a chile would be like.

The child was a boy, 14 years old.
