This is not the year 2000 or 2005 when oxy's were actually a problem. This film is nothing but a failed attempt to play up a problem that once held this town in its grasp. We are now living with the aftermath of what oxy's did to this town. This movie is playing it up like oxy's are a big problem now. The drug has been off the market for years. First it was the movie about the White family in Boone county and now this film. Think people do you really want to be portrayed as this film shows a few dope heads. This doesn't show the better side of our town. The people who have been on drugs and turned their lives around or the ones who have never touched a pill and made wonderful lives for themselves. We will all be type casted by this film from now on. I will never be able to go anywhere and brag about what a wonderful little town I grew up in again. I lived out of state for many years and bragged about how my town was perfect. We had fun out in the mountains on the weekends, mudding in trucks, riding 4-wheelers, and dirt bikes. I just hope that all my friends don't associate me with this film when they find out what the name of the town really is.

If this movie would show a true picture of Oceana and the drug problem that would be OK, but from the trailors I've seen this movie is doing nothing but making Oceana look aweful. Yes Oceana does have a drug problem; just like the rest of the world. We are not the only town in the US to have this problem and we are not the worst either. Have you noticed that they show pics of the back alleys and the trailor parks to make things look so run down. They show an old sign that says Oceana Mobile Homes when we have not even had this company in decades. They don't show anything that will let people know about the good in this town. We have beautiful homes and business in this town along with many people who are productive working class citizens and dress very nice, but yet they don't want to show that. The person on there who says your either on drugs or a coal miner is so wrong and this statement was so stupid. You have lawyers, business owners, contruction workers, gass workers, nurses, doctors, truck drivers and many other professions who live in this town. This movie is nothing but trash that makes our town look bad. They could have done some good with this movie had they done it the right way and it could have done a lot to help the problem that is here and everywhere else, but they just want to exploit us and our town. Very disappointed that people want fame so bad that they let themselves be exploited by this man for his movie when it does nothing to help the problem, but just makes our town look pathetic. I refuse to watch it in full and would not pay.

When I come home to visit I ask my relative, "How is so and so? Oh, they are druggies..... she's/he's married to a druggie, the son/daughter died of an overdose, the kids in rehab, the kids in jail, they sell drugs, make drugs. No matter who I ask about it's reported in drug talk. You folks have a problem. Your police dept. sucks and are part of the problem. The Sheriffs suck. You can only cure this problem by activly getting involved. Whinning on topix has yet to get any thing done why waste time

This is wrong. I'm completely embarrassed of this movie.what few respectively people who lives in Oceana are ashamed that even so the nastiest homes were shown why not go to the other nice homes in town. Oceana ..take a stand..let's pull together ...my children have already asked to move cause they too are embarrassed ...shame..speechless. why should I care to even give my opinion when some punk will belittle my every word.

The ones on here complaining about it looking bad is the same 1s who turns their heads when they see a drug deal go on.Use to be able to take ya kids to the park without worrying about drunks and needles and for the 1 who said Oxys are not around anymore ,lmao you are so wrong. They are still made just can't snort them like they use too. This film shows not what only Oceana has become but what the whole state has become.Law Enforcement is a joke there and the court system is even worse. You keep screaming when are we going to get a WalMart ,well never.when the coalmines are gone their will be very little work .Who do you think keeps most the businesses going here coalminers. What they need to do is bring in a truckload of drugs dump them at the Park and let all the druggies OD,then the good ppl will be all that is left. When I hear of a druggie that ODed and passed on I celebrate cause its 1 less my Tax Dollars have to support.I have lost several family members too drugs but that were their idiot choice to do them.

I 1000% agree!! Their have been deaths in my family also do to drugs. I do not wish death on anyone...coalmining has been in our families too but if it comes to it...my kids are first and you know ppl can't even walk for exercise anymore withoutof being approached...yes I have tried to help others and you know what....I GOT TALKED ABOUT!! Worse than drug user ..no win situation ..and alot 2faced ppl and family members. So that's why we the people can't do anything.

The ppl dont want to change and they wont.It is sad and deep down I dont want them to die but they are.If not physically they are dying emotionally.Letting the drugs control everything about them.I personally know ppl who has been going to the meth clinic for over 8 yrs now. This Country is killing itself and they can't see it.Kids have died, parents, brothers, sister all died an uncalled for death.

Everything you said was true, but the bottom line is that they aren't trying to solve our problems. They are trying to make an interesting movie that people will watch and enjoy.

Who said they were trying to solve our problems, just another attempt to try to show us looking 2nd class, they could've made an interesting movie in any town in WV that people would enjoy, this is a third rate movie with a 50,000 dollar budget. Let people watch "The wild and wonderful White's for good entertainment, pathetic

They show an old sign that says Oceana Mobile Homes when we have not even had this company in decades.

Why is there a sign still visible if the business has been closed for a decade? This should be an eye-opener for everyone in Wyoming County. Let's clean this place up. If everyone would start with their own property, it would make a big difference. People should be written citations for having trashy yards. We look at it every day, but we don't really SEE it because it's what we're used to. High rate of drug addiction is embarrassing, but the run-down condition of our county is mortifying. County Commission, get an initiative in place and we could all be a part of a county-wide clean-up.
