I sure hope this is just a rumor. I dont know how things like this get started. If some convicts escaped from Indiana they should have caught them before they would have ever made it to Ocean. I think its probably a rumor someone just started or i atleast hope its just a rumor.

Actually, as of yesterday morning, they hadn't been caught. As to the killing 3 women in Oceana, I haven't heard anything about that. WVNS.com had a news report yesterday about the escaped inmates though.

Escaped convicts caught in Panhandle Nebraska
By DIANE WETZEL, World Herald News Service
Published: Friday, March 27, 2009 9:07 AM CDT
Three escaped convicts who were the target of a seven state manhunt were apprehended Thursday night near Alliance.
Jerry Sargent, Christopher Marshall and Bobby Cockerell were captured after local authorities spiked the tires of their fleeing vehicle. The three suspects fled on foot and were apprehended after a brief chase, according to Lincoln County Chief Deputy Dean Sparks.
The apprehension took place one week after Sargent, Marshall and Cockerell overpowered an employee at the Branchville Correctional Facility in Indiana, cutting a fence to escape on foot.
Three days after their escape, the convicts beat three brothers with clubs in the northern Kentucky town of Sanders before stealing guns and a truck. Police in neighboring states of Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia and Missouri were asked to watch for the men, but no credible sightings were noted until reports that the men were in Nebraska. Arrest warrants were issued on Wednesday for the men on firearms charges stemming from the assault, said George Huffman, a Lexington-based Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agent.
On Thursday night, Nebraska State Patrol spokesman Mike Meyer told the Associated Press that Nebraska authorities got a lead from a mechanic in Thedford who said he'd helped some men get their vehicle running and later realized they matched the fugitives' descriptions.
Authorities said the escapees took $7,000 during the robbery in Sanders, about 62 miles northeast of Louisville. Smith said the men hid in a barn Sunday night at a farm in Sanders before attacking two brothers who lived there and a third who stopped by the house. After tying the men up, they ransacked the house and fled with money, clothes, ammunition and the firearms, including a high-powered rifle and several handguns. At the time of the escape, Sargent was serving 50 years for robbery and criminal confinement, Marshall was serving 50 years for dealing cocaine and Cockerell was serving 20 years for burglary.
