I had my nails done today at the new nail salon, Happy Feet. They did an awesome job, were very nice people and not expensive. Wish them the best of luck! I'll be giving them my business.

Not all of our citizens are on food stamps. You claim there is nothing better to do than drugs - why not have your nails done? I am proud that someone has organized their goals and finances so that they could open a small business in our town. When our miners are crying because they have no job, this business owner will be setting the example of creating an opportunity for yourself. The reason there are no jobs are because too many people are "waiting" for them to suddenly become available - we need entrepreneurs to create job opportunities.

Good Luck, Happy Feet!

I am not on food stamps or welfare, I work to support my son and myself. What does that have to do with me trying to get more people to do business at Happy Feet? Geez...

What I said was: "When our miners are crying because they have no job, this business owner will be setting the example of creating an opportunity for yourself. The reason there are no jobs are because too many people are "waiting" for them to suddenly become available - we need entrepreneurs to create job opportunities." I stand behind it still.

There is a recent wave of mining layoffs and soon there will be a number of hard working people receiving some sort of compensation that is a fraction of their actual income, hoping and waiting to be rehired to mine again. What people don't want to accept is: the mining jobs are literally disappearing. You can vote for Romney all day and all night and it will not change that the demand for coal is going down the tubes. If you want to stay in Wyoming County, there must be more jobs - there must be more businesses to offer jobs - businesses do not just appear, they must be created - entrepreneurs create businesses. So, you can see why I am supportive of any entrepreneur - you must be brave to open a business in Oceana.

Do you have any entrepreneur ideas? Often, people with good ideas have no money BUT some people have money and no good ideas.. A good entrepreneur needs both.
