Rainbow People forced to move from Ocala National Forest

Dirty Momma just wants to protect the land. That's why the 31-year-old Florida woman, known outside Rainbow gatherings as April Hendry, didn't resist the U.S. Forest Service's effort to force her and hundreds ... Full Story

Many are the people who will, at the top of their lungs, proclaim they're sheparding the environment, saving the environment, etc. Until it comes time to go poopy, bathe, or whatever, then they do whatever they want, with no care for the environment.

Just because one doesn't leave beer cans or sandwich wrappers in the woods doesn't mean that they aren't damaging them. One would think that they would understand that, but apparently not.

I can't see why they let all terain toys tear up our parks. I see very clearly why they went after the Hippi group $$$$$$$$$ the Gov't wants it and hippies aren't paying it.

" "We love the Earth," Hendry said, surrounded by other barefoot and bedraggled campers in tie-dye."

The Rainbow people want to be one with nature then use soap in a natural spring, what a hoot that is. I bet after this event is over they all fly back to their condos in the city.

I see no one here complaining about the Daytona race and the trash left behind at the track (average of 7 pounds per attendee) that will be going directly into a landfill. Of course the event is all about the income generated....who cares about the environment in this case, right? Let's go after the hippies...makes sense to me. As long as the Daytona crowd doesn't leave all their trash in Ocala National Forest we'll all be okay, right?

I frequent ONF and love it enough to seriously consider relocating to the area. I am one of the "dreaded off-roaders", but I am also enviromentally aware. I stick to designated trails and pack out what I pack in. There should be no reason our national forests can't be shared by all if used responsibly.

I see no reason why ATV'ers should have been compared to Rainbow People in this article, other than a possible agenda the author has with ATV operators.

In years past off-road enthusiasts have pretty much had free run of the forest. This was great for the off-road group (myself included), but obviously not for groups who have other interests in the forest. Laws and regulations were changed and now other groups' interests are being protected.

There is room in ONF for all of us; after all, each of us is a tax-paying American, right?

Government is not supposed to give you, or find you, a job. That is your responsibility. Make your own way...just like the majority of people on this planet. BTW...for those who are able and WANT to work...unemployment is still at an all time low.

They don't claim to be one with the Earth. Besides what does the Daytona 500 have to do with this? The people that run those events expect trash to be every where.

I think every is entitled to their beliefs but when crime is involved then it is wrong. I personally have witnessed the works of people from the Rainbow Family. I worked at a local grocery store few years back and saw a group of them try to take their fully loaded cart outside without paying. Needless to say, I notified the manager and they were stopped. If they want peace then pay for your groceries like everyone else as when they or anyone steals the prices have to go up in the stores to cover cost of what was stolen. In regards to their parking in the forest.. rules are rules regardless of who you are, if ATVs/vehicles cant be there then neither can their vehicles and are entitled to be ticketed.

Yes. Marko believes that government exists to solve his personal problems. He is exhibit A in why we need VOTER COMPETENCY TESTING. Doesn't it make you feel great that this imbecile's vote counts just as much as yours?

Well, Well, Well!

What are you tree hugging types going to do?

Where are you Lauren?

You mean those wonderful types of "people" who live in the forest do not take care of the forest!

I just can't believe it, I am shocked!

They used to call them bums, now it is homeless people. You all know "political correctness" and all!

Peace, love and all the TRASH they leave behind.

"Ain't life grand".

What is sad is some of you really are shocked!

Maybe because unlike the forest people, the ones at Daytona inject that city with millions of dollars. Some of which are used for clean up. Those Rainbow jerks only use and never give.
