This low rating is because of the lack of customer service provided at this location. As a first time buyer of an RV without immaculate credit, we knew that making a purchase such as this would be a difficult path to follow. It’s been told to us many times that financing an RV is more difficult than a car because it isn’t considered a necessity to own a RV.

We stopped by this location on a Monday because they had small travel trailer that caught our eye and knew would be priced within our abilities. Our sales representative, Bobby, was pleasant and patient with us. Unfortunately, once you start getting deep into the paperwork, you’re handed over to the “F&I Director” Joel Marcus.

The first day we were at America Choice RV, he too was pleasant and made promises that though our credit history had been a little rough, he would call the very next day to give us a definite answer, but was certain that there wouldn’t be any issues.

Two days later I call to get an update on what was going on since we never did hear anything from Joel. Apparently there were some issues with the first Financing company and he was trying others but again was certain that there would be no problem getting us financed. I expressed my concern about “losing” the travel trailer, but he again reassured me that the “Buyer’s Order” I had received from him “reserved” the RV for us.

By Friday of the same week Joel stopped responding to emails and when phone calls were made he was mysteriously always “with a customer.” And never once called back.
Our first issue, is never provide a customer with any false hope. Be realistic and truthful. Our second and our biggest issue, don’t cower from a customer. Joel needs to learn to just be upfront with customers, and not hide behind the receptionist. We accepted a long time ago that the mistakes of our past will follow us, being told that there was nothing that could be done wouldn’t hurt us. That of course is assuming that Joel was “concerned about hurting” us. Realistically we assume since nothing could be done for us financially, we lost any value to Joel and therefore didn’t deserve an email or, heaven forbid, a phone call. Third, we noticed that on Saturday of the same week, the trailer we were looking at was no longer on the lot. Good thing we can fall back that “Buyer Order.”

But that’s okay. We went somewhere else and drove off with a travel trailer for a lower price, more amenities.

Today May 25, 2010 we received a wonderful voicemail from Joel. We were ready to put this issue to rest once we wrote this review but Mr. Marcus and the Vice President of the company decided to fling poo from their monkey cages. Make sure when shopping for an RV you consider what has happened here with us.

Today Joel make empty threats that his "attorneys" would be getting in contact with us simply because I excercised my right to freedom of speach. You'd think someone who would be in the armed forces would have some idea of this nations constitution. He personally attacked us today when he decided to make ignorant and inflamatory comments about our credit ratings.

Then he told us ANOTHER lie that he didn't sell the trailer we were looking at until yesterday because WE didn't call back when he left us messages. He never called.

This will be the last time we make any comments about this issue after tonight. We will rise above the "professionals" at this location. Joel, take this as a cease and desist and do not call us any more. Do not mail, postal or electronic, either. You have no reason to talk to us at this point. You're "job" has been done and now it's time for us to make your wonderful customer service skills known. It's also great that when people look your business up in the future, one of the first entrys will be from " ripoffreport.com ."

Guess what the same thing happen with my husband and I. Its been months and we are still waiting to hear from Joel and our credit isn't bad. But, what can you expect with all the very unprofessional looking people they have working there. Long hair on a man just doesn't look very professional. America Choice Rv will be another fly by night business. Which I will say the people at the Clermont store beat the hell out of the people in all ways to the ones in Ocala. Much more professional and much nicer, and they did't seem to be lairs like that bunch in Ocala.

I would agree the customer service here is horrid!! Sales people has poor attitudes, they act as if they are doing you a favor by taking your money and selling you their junk. The Sales manager condones the sales forces poor attitudes no wonder why they have them. The prices are over blown, the product quality is lacking, their bank relationships are substandard hence the poor financing choices and options. Those in the market for an RV would be best served driving to Tampa or Orlando because those dealers would appreciate the business have way higher volume hence better deals/financing AND no attitudes or at least less.

Ocala dealers car and RV have a reputation for poor attitutes because they are use to dealing with the trust fund babies who throw money at them and they think the normal population should do the same and they have not earned the business.

Try to avoid this place at all cost! They tried to hold the title to my car (that I was using as a trade) as ransom to get me to purchase a different RV after they sold the one I had an offer on out from underneath me. It took 5 days, 30 phone calls and about 12 voicemail messages to get someone decent (with morals) to return my call and track down my title so that I could pick it up. This place is very shady and I would HIGHLY recommend that you shop elsewhere. I was told numerous lies by their salesman Jessie. He is rude and lies. Good luck in your search for an RV, there are some decent dealers out there...this is NOT one of them.

On Oct 1, we purchased an RV with the promise in writing that they would fix the electric step. We were told it was a trade in from an elderly gentleman. We picked up the RV on the 4th and immediately started having problems with the step. We contacted the salesman, Jason who said he would check on the warranty and call us back, but he assured us a new board had been installed. No call back was ever received. We took our scheduled trip and the step stopped working completely. We again called Jason. He tried to tell us it was definitley a new board and were told we had to talk to someone else. After leaving messages with no return calls for management, we took the RV to a dealership in TN and were told it was a hack job and was definitely not new. Again, we attempted to get someone to return our calls to no avail. We ended up getting the step fixed for just shy of $550, and keeping the old parts as proof. On the 21st, we were able to speak to a parts clerk who told us it was not a trade in, yet, it was a consignment and that there was no record of the part being replaced. The computer said they took the motor aprt and out it back together and it worked at the time we picked it up. Management, Dan, finally called back, but has refused to help us resolve this issue, even contradicting on whether this was a trade in or consignment, and whether they put a new board in, or just took it apart. We also contacted the original owner, who said he did not know it had been sold. The original owner stopped by the dealership in ZephyrHills this past Monday (not knowing it was sold) and was told by management that the RV was moved to their Ocala lot, and although they had not sold it, they had someone interested that was trying to secure financing. Of course, this was a lie. We paid in full for the RV 3 weeks before, and now we are disappointed that they will not cover the cost of the step, but more importantly, that we might be in a legal battle for the title. The owner was extremely nice, yet stated he will not sign the title over until he receives his money from the dealership. He has left messages with them with no return phone calls. Only now have we read the reviews posted online and checked out the BBB rating, which would have raised red flags if we had done our research. We feel horrible for the elderly man who is being taken advantage of.

me and my wife bought from them and we were very happy with everything i do not know when you all bought from there, but they treated us very well i felt like i was part of a family. maybe they had a change sense you all purchased from them.

we bought an RV from the Zephyrhills office and I were you I would stay far far away from them. They do not return phone calls or honor their warranty.

Saved me Thousands!!!! Was able to help me find a great RV for my family, and saved me $4000 on the purchase of my RV. It is a smaller RV dealer, but I liked the personal attention I received. They had exactly what I was looking for, but much cheaper then the larger dealers I shopped. I thought it was a scam at first, did not understand why it was so much less expensive. They told me it was less expensive because they have less overhead, and did not have to make a large profit on RVs to keep the doors open. Overall I got a great new RV, at a much lower price. The only negative thing I could say, is that it is a bit outside of Tampa. I did pass the dealership from the road. They could add a larger sign at the entrance.

I would stay far away from them. Up front, they are friendly and very available.
After they've got your business they won't talk to you or return phone calls at all.
Very unorganized and unprofessional.
They must be doing something right because they appear to have lots of business customers but I wasn't one of them.
I don't know why I was picked to be given the "run around" but I couldn't get the time of day from them.
I would just caution anyone to do their own research before making any commitments with them. Buyer beware !

I worked for the Ocala office in repairs for a brief time and don't even know where to start. These are the same people that owned County line RV which closed down due to mysterious reason I guess. I was told they had to close because they got caught doing some shady things with insurance claims. One in particular, the owners took their coach in to have the fiberglass roof replaced after a tree fell on it and the dealership was payed by the insurance company to replace it and only put a patch on it.
While being employed at the America Choice in Ocala, fla. I saw first hand owners being billed for items not installed during repairs and used parts out of other campers being installed and billed as new.

In my opinion it is the most deceiving place to buy a rv from, I was a employee there and I talked to a lot of other employees and past sales men there and they told me the horror stories of how they lie and tell the customers what they want to hear and what they'll get extras if they buy a rv but they will never receive it, they only care about money and could careless about the customer when they drive it off the lot, I wouldn't want my worst enemy to buy anything here, everyday I worked there all I heard was customers pissed off and mad all day long everyday, and on top of that I was staying in the campground and paid $515.00 for a month there but about the 6th day I got a phone call of a family member back up north that was sick so I had to leave but they didn't even want to get my money back to me for the remaining 3 weeks and the owner Scott and the lady in the camp office was so rude it wasn't even funny and then they decided to make excuses why I couldn't get it, horrible place in my opinion wouldn't recommend this place at all to anyone

Do yourself a favor before handing your money over to these ......clowns ( other names came to mind, but I will keep it clean here) find a local homeless shelter and hand them the money you were thinking of spending at America Choice RV, thrust me, you will feel better about it. I am still reeling from an incident involving their "sales" department yesterday. All I can say at this point is that I am darn glad that the only piece of personal information that I gave them was my phone number. I will write an update to this later, after I cool off a bit and am able to write without the contempt I have for these people influencing my review.

My advice is find any other more honest RV dealership than America Choice RV. We were at the Tampa RV Supershow on January 20, 2017. Their salesman promised they would do just one soft inquiry if I filled out an application to see what kind of financing might be possible. Over the next ten days they generated 10 hard inquiries, dropping my credit score by over 25 points. In the meantime, I had applied for new vehicle insurance, and the price increased by $300 per year solely due to the drop in my credit score. I emailed my complaints to the dealership, and they never responded. I filed a complaint with the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau today and hope they can get some kind of response. There are plenty of more honest RV dealerships, so please go to one of them instead!
