this is no surprise condering the way the oberlin plant is being run right now. 50 people were let go in the first wave and now temps are there to fill the spots for packing boxes.so now world color is paying 50 people to stay home and get a 40 hr paycheck because of the warn act and paying temps on top of that. just hope the 10 million in bonus money is worth it

Empower, Engage and Develop our Employees

Quad/Graphics believes that its distinct corporate culture, which encourages a long-term perspective, an organization-wide entrepreneurial spirit and an opportunistic mentality, will contribute to its long-term success. Quad/Graphics proactively fosters an entrepreneurial environment by empowering and encouraging employees to take responsibility and ownership of projects and enact solutions within a flat hierarchical structure. Quad/Graphics also endorses a “promotion-from-within” strategy based on the premise that many of its best leaders are those who have had a long tenure with the company and understand its core business and customer base. Quad/Graphics supports the empowerment, engagement and development of its employees by investing in its employee base through education in the latest print technologies as well as job training and leadership principles. In addition, Quad/Graphics supports its employees through retirement planning and the provision of health and wellness benefits.

I found the above statement in the SEC filing. This would be a BIG departure from what World Color is doing to it's employees right now. WC is GETTING RID OF "long tenured" employees, people that have been with the company for 20 - 30 - 40 years and keeping newbies because they COST LESS. WC Managers have NO loyalties toward their long term employees. It's "save my own ass" as usuall.

I can only hope that quad will step in and fire these worthless assholes and re-hire the long term employees that have worked most of their lives to build the company only to be dumped on by the current management.

With all due respect to you and your opinion Billy, it's quite possible the WC has been doing this to the ''long term'' employees as part of an agreement with Quad as companies in mergers often do.If that's not the case then WC is a company worth of 'worthless a-holes'. I saw first hand a year ago how they treated 20-30 yr. employees and always had the impression that someone higher up was making that happen and that it involved QW at the time doing the 'dirty work' for a prospective buyer/partner.

Look all you tick turds, Quad does not want the leprosy known as your benevolent management group to taint any of their employees. Buyout, unfortunately, includes buy out clauses for most upper and mid management (GM's). They will leave with not only bonuses, but nice severance packages. Second, no union plants will survive as union plants, contracts are null and void as soon as the buy out goes thru. Thirdly, all pay grades will be aligned exactly with Quads pay scales, whether that is an increase or decrease in pay will depend on your job title (hourly or salary). Benefits are fairly even, those of you that are left, will probably save a little each week in this regard. Forthly, your vacation and retirement have already been negotiated, and you will learn these facts shortly after the take over has occured. At least, like Billy keeps saying over and over and over and over again, at least you may have a job when this all washes out. Want to bet that Billy does not have a production job, but one of those sit on you arse jobs up front, that never has to worry about swing shifts, or coming in early or staying over without prior warning, and being threatened with being terminated if you don't show. Well, Billy, what exactly is your position with this company?

I notice that you addressed your comments to "tick turds." If that's what you think of us, well so be it. Your ARE the wizard, after all, so you must be right.

I am pleased that you read my posts, and are aware that I keep repeating myself. Is there anything wrong with stating that we may (still) have our jobs? I for one would sure as hell like to keep mine.

You are exactly right regarding my position with the company. I am sitting squarely on my giant ass, right up front. So, WIZARD OF Q, what's YOUR position with our company?
