I don't think that is true but maybe it is. People can find out who is on Section 8 because I saw an online list posted from the housing showing what homes will be open for vouchers and was amazed at how much the rent was and they even posted the exact addresses and not just the blocks' number range as the news paper usually does to protect the families privacy if victems of crimes. Also, there is no breach of privacy if the Landlord asks the neighbors to watch out for the home regardless if its a voucher renter or part voucher renter or a renter who pays from his or her own pocket. And going by the News paper (which probably wasn't 100 percent accurate) said the reason the San Francisco police officer sued Antioch was because the officer had an open mic while saying "yeah, sure you own the home". Think she was a sub leaser or just renting the room. He got confused but was it a false arrest. Was she still fighting with them and making threats. And how does making the mistake of arresting her because he didn't believe she was the home owner a reason for 3/4 of a Million dollars? I don't know her. Maybe she's being set up.. it's not like it's not happening in the states (I should know from personal experience) but if she gets that much then so should everyone else who is thrown in Jail for a night or a week or however long she spent in jail (if any). People do 20 years for crimes, DNA proves them innocent and after 18 years in prison they get something like 8 thousand dollars a year. How in the hell did this lady get 750k of Tax payers money because the cop said what he said. Did he call her the "N" word? and if so.. how is that worst that being put in hell for 18 years and getting like 4 times as much for a night or however long she spent? To much political correctness.

If you've got bad section 8 neighbors complain!!! It's only through us tax paying citizens complaining and causing backlash that this fraud and abuse is going to stop.

Now this guy got way more than the last person I read about but I still don't see how this can compare. And I'm not picking on her because she's black. Also remember she was a police officer. Don't they have to act in a way to show others how to be proper and civil and just let the process take hold?**Friday, January 21, 2011

Jan 28 2011, New York ó A Staten Island man who pocketed a $2 million settlement from the state after DNA evidence got his conviction on charges he raped a cop's wife tossed - was swept up in Thursday's arrests.

Scott Fappiano, 48, who served 21 years in prison still has a pending federal suit against the city which could fetch him another $10 million or more**

The city is not allowed to even know where section 8 lives and if they do, like the list that was pretended in Antioch it is a serious breach of confidentiality and a prosecutable crime.
So let the lies and witch hunt about section 8 cease.
No city not even Discovery Bay has the right to block or impede section 8.
Redevelopment is the real evil. It is an open credit line that allows any city council to spend without approval of the voter and believe you, me Brentwood spent millions.
20% of that is set aside for non working or affordable housing they like to call it.
They don't tell you about it because you'd FREAK or that is saved for last to suck in home buyers believing they are buying into an up scale community. They won't tell you about cause it is the poison no town wants out.
Brentwood is still in the honeymoon phase, like Antioch was not too many years back before low life moved into their S.E. section but in a short time the redevelopment scam will catch up with us too.
No spilling over, it will come from within in and in the form of apartments. Perhaps on top of our golf courses if they want to, but mark my words it's coming no matter how much realtors want to pretend so you will buy into the con.
They may do it like Antioch is now by creating impassable code inspections for rentals then demolishing violations in old town next to your house or on the next block. Makes no difference, it will send home prices into a tailspin. Those who thought they had a nice home won't be able to give it away and if they stay won't be safe with a machine gun in the house.
The beauty of the government's con job program (redevelopment) is that it makes your property tax not only pay to demolish your home (I saw them laughing) it uses your property tax to build apartments for non working people who don't even yet live here, let alone help pay taxes. Then it gives it away to corporations who are waiting in the wing and live elsewhere and could care less if the town falls in the gutter.
Our government has turned to prey upon us working class and home owners. I'm just as mad and depressed as you are.
Only reason I know was I saw it happen in Antioch. Their homeowners are to busy working to show up at their City council's study session this week.
We here in Brentwood might do well to though.
It may give us insight as to how our bad boys in government will lead us down the garden path like they did those sorry people in Antioch.
My prediction is that Brentwood will be diverse like Antioch in about 15 years and that's not a bad thing. The section 8 problem has to do with irresponsible landlords who are more concern with making a buck rather than the character of the tenat. A few years ago, the City of Antioch ran a study showing that only 7% of section 8 residents were involved in some type of engagement with the police. This means that 93% of the section 8 residents are law abiding citizens.
The local news stations only show the negative aspect of Antioch. After reading an article about the comparison between the Northern California and Southern California towns of Brentwood, it shows that the median income of Northern California Brentwood at $90,000 per year with only 28% having a college degree. I guess this show's that Northern California Brentwood is not as affluent as some would believe. Yesterday's Contra Costa Times paper had an article on a Brentwood City Counsel Member who owned commercial property, but owed thousands of dollars in business permits to the City of Brentwood. It appears that some citizens in Brentwood need to worry about other things than section 8 issues. Brentwood is a nice town, but more diversity will only make it better.

The fines will come after the only game left in town 'Home owners'.
Section 8 is a federal program!
Do you think they will let the city push them around?
The cracks in the sidewalk are just a means to get probable cause to enter the property. They are going to rape the down town.
SE Antioch will stand by and act like finally they got what we got!

Please be patient with the City of Antioch. Once HWY 4 completes with the expansion and BART extends out to Antioch the property value will begin to increase which will force most of the trouble to another city that is affordable. This is exactly what's going in Oakland. Oakland has increased rent, property value is still high, small business are soaring and night life exists.

i just moved here a yr ago after a experinace in stockton for 6 mos just to see of cousre stocton was not for me antiochs nice but man im not racists but blacks need to read what the respectfull spanish texas guy said earlier i agree 100% with hsi post i see hundreds of black kids here who are soooooo brainwashed that being a hoooood jerk off saggy pant thugggg is just their fing thing , their religion their life and their way to intimidate or try to intimidate things their really insecure about and its ALLLLL BS i say put em in compton or ny or a REAL rough gehetto for 2 weeks and theyll be begging to come back to antioch with a great kid attitude , you see it daily in antioch they always wlak in grioups with no other races poooor kids know no better unless you change their way of thinking parents yr kids are set up to fail i see it every day and beleive me i know the streets but im now a retired man with 2 great respectfull not perfect but good kids

To antioch se, Have you checked what your children are doin? Do you know what they are up to? How do they dress? Who are their friends? You say you came to Antioch to make a betrer life for your kids. But, How do they behave? I have met alot of black older people that i love and adore. Three of my nighbors are black. One is a deputy, one a pastor, and the others are friendly but quiet. I am hispanic. I was born and raised here. My family are native texans. I never was racest until now. I section eight black family moved into my nieghborhood. He sold drugs, smoked weed in front of kids riding their bikes, Bullied people by calling them a snitch to all his friends that were hangin out in his garauge. People called the police on him because hard working people had to go to sleep and go to work while he partied with loud music playing pool until four in the morning with his friends. Ya, it frustrates the hell out of working people. I see their kids all the time causing problems. So do you know what your kids are doin? If you really want a better life for them make sure they are not bulling people because they are black because they think they can. I have seen this many times in the school district. Make sure you teach them how to relive in a more working environment nieghborhood. Show yourselves as being people wanting to make better you life. How do you do that? By being quiet in the nieghborhood, be polite, show people you are not ghetto. Then they will give you a chance. Its the black mentality that everyone is so tired of. Not so much blacks. I know black people that dont like their own kind because of the mentality. People will recieve you as you want them to recieve you. Make your children dont hook up with people with ghetto mentality. Thats the only way you will make it. We all signed a petition to the owner of the home of the family that moved in down the street. He was kicked out. sad for the kids though. Because of him they now have to move. We have a new black family. Quiet, and stay to themselves. we are okay with them. I have no complaint. we are all sleeping again. Home owners do have the power to get rid of you. Its totally up to you. Love my new home. The community sticks together. And we dont take ghetto crap.
