Oakley: Amtrak train collision victim identified as Antioch man
Contra Costa Coroners' deputies said 32-year-old Rayeme Makanski died from blunt force injuries to the head after he was clipped from behind by an Amtrak train on the tracks between Big Break and Bridgehead roads about 11:30 a.m. Police said Makanski was riding his dirt bike in the vineyards that surround the tracks in that area, and had his back ... The person killed in the Amtrak accident was my cousin. He had a daughter and a family who loved him very much. I'm sorry that this tragedy has messed up the place you like to ride your bike. As for me, I no longer have a cousin who I loved very much and will miss every day. Not to mention his daughter who lost her father just days before Christmas.
