George Bush's latest powers, courtesy of the Democratic Congress
...This scandal began by revelations that the President broke the law -- committed felonies -- when spying on our calls and emails without warrants, because he believes he has the power to break the law. The scandal all but concluded yesterday, with the Democratic Congress (a) protecting the President,(b) permanently blocking the lawsuits which would have revealed what he did and would have ruled that he broke the law, and (c) legalizing the very illegal spying regime that he secretly ordered in 2001. Only in the twisted world of Washington can that be described as a "compromise." ... http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2008/0... |

I have been reading your post for a long time. It seems that everything in this country rubs you the wrong way. I guess that is why you are called an "anti- Authoritarian". However, as a PROUD UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CITIZEN and a UNITED STATES OF AMERICA VETRAN, I find your comments unexceptable. If you don't like this country and it's leaders, or for what it stands for, why don't you move to IRAQ, or AFGANISTAN. I bet you will feel a lot different about things here then!!
You can't be glad you live in a country that allows you to speak or write your mind, or in your case, to live in a country that allows you the chance to go to school and get an education in computer science. You would think that a person would be singing the praises for a country that allows you the freedom that you have. Freedom I might add that a lot of people have given their lives for. In case you did not know it, freedom is not a free thing!!! So I guess my question for you is, why do you choose to live in this country?? I said choose, because you do have a choice. Obviously you have chosen to live her, why?? |

1 I guess you feel that criticism of the Bush Administration means a person doesn't love this country. I guess that means that 75% of us need to move, in your opinion. Did it ever occur to you that some people might judge YOU as unpatriotic for NOT standing up for our country and constitution, for NOT calling out our present administration. The people in the USA deserve so much more from our government than what we get. And I'm not talking about giveaway programs. I'm talking about honesty, integrity. The calibur of folks we have running things do not truly represent the goodness we have as Americans. As a people we are so much better than the government that represents us. Let Cywar be.. I might not agree with all he says but I'll defend his right to say it. Besides we need people like him to keep things from swinging too far to one side. |

---------- You find my comments unexceptable? Is it acceptable for the current administration to break the law and corrupt the Constitution? |

like I said, If you are that unhappy here move your butt to another country!! I for one fought in Viet Nam just so you could shoot your big mouths off. It has also been an observation of mine that people who do what you do have never served anything except your own agendas.
But just to prove me wrong, which war have either of you served, or , which war have you lost a sibbling or father or any other family member in??? |

What is telling is that you never address whether the accusations against the Administration are true or not, you just get bothered that the accusations were made. How would living in Iraq or Afghanistan make a difference? Both are administered by the USA as virtually a 51st and 52nd state. |

1 I am also a Veteran, disabled, but the Bastard Bush lied. For his oil cronies, and has all but desroyed what was left of an almost nonexistant Constitution, for under the war powers act, the constitution becomes null and void, this is fact, and FDR was given full War Powers in 1933, so a Jewish mastered lie is still a lie. I served the country, not a damned political party. and anyone who will support a political party over their own freedoms and Constitution has no room to bitch or judge. |

1 You hit the nail square on Brother, maybe He should look up "Operation:Garden Plot", or read the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act, and God forbid PDD 51. and yes the stupreme court has ruled on placebo ammendments to the Constitution, but GW can suspend the Constitution and declare Martial Law at his (discretion?) without impunity. |

In Minneapolis, a Judge Considers Legal Case Against Pres. Bush
By Jason Leopold The Public Record Monday, June 23, 2008 A couple of weeks before Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich introduced 35 articles of impeachment against President George W. Bush, Ed Felien appeared before a Minneapolis District Court judge and argued that a county attorney should be ordered to arrest the president on murder charges when he arrives in the city for the 2008 Republican National Convention... http://www.pubrecord.org/index.php... |

The Democrats and the New FISA Law Embracing Big Brother It may be June, but Christmas came early this year for Big Brother and the telecommunications giants. Unfortunately, it is average Americans who will pay--dearly--on three separate counts. First, precious constitutional and other legal protections against warrantless domestic surveillance have been shattered. The federal government may now secretly and legally eavesdrop on virtually any American's e-mail, cell phone and landline communications--without first getting a court-ordered warrant. New federal legislation gives the government and phone companies sweeping new domestic surveillance powers. It allows for mass, untargeted, warrantless eavesdropping against ordinary American citizens and political activists. It sets back hard-fought free speech, civil rights and privacy protections that were won by popular pressure following the Vietnam War and Watergate era.... http://www.counterpunch.org/cohn06272008.html |

Vidal: Bush ended US as a republic
Sat, 28 Jun 2008 Gore Vidal, US novelist, historian and social critic says the Bush regime has killed all of the constitutional links that made the US a republic. On early Friday morning Iran time, in an exclusive interview with Press TV, Vidal said that President Bush has rid the country of the Bill of Rights, habeas corpus and the entire legacy of the Magna Carta in the name of war on terror. He also criticized the House of Representatives for not impeaching President Bush, over a wide array of subjects such as disclosure of CIA agent Valerie Plame's covert status. Vidal did however single out Rep. Dennis Kuchinich for drawing up articles of impeachment against the president. Vidal, long strongly critical of the Bush administration, said the administration has both an an explicit and covert expansionist agenda. In his writings he has made the assessment that for several years, the administration and its associates, many of whom are magnets in the oil and gas industry have had clear aims to control the oil of Central Asia which is to follow on the heels of gaining effective control of the oil of the Persian Gulf--a project that took a new twist with the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1991. That event inadvertently served as the basis for the neo-conservative American Project for the 21st Century document and policy guideline that has been the hallmark of the Bush-Cheney years. Regarding the September 11, 2001 attacks, Vidal has written the American intelligence community clearly warned it was coming but the event provided political cover and pretext for the plans that the administration already had in place for invading Iraq--plans that can be traced to the waning days of the first Bush family presidency.. http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx... |

Another veteran's opinion
========== """CJ" Graham is a Veteran and the proud wife of a retired USAF Veteran."" THE GODS OF GLOBALISM: THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS By CJ Graham June 28, 2008 ...This framework strives to harmonize our nation with international law through the United Nations, the Summit of the Americas, The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Inter-American System and has been moved progressively forward by way of NAFTA, the SPP and the soon to come NAU which will finally complete the permanent dissolution of our nation into a hemispheric conglomerate where all knees shall bend to the Gods of Globalism and a new social order shall reign supreme. God help us all... http://www.newswithviews.com/Graham/cj2.htm |

How dare they rip the Fourth Amendment?
Thursday, July 3, 2008 By Joseph L. What Every American Needs to Know (and Do) About FISA Before Tuesday
July 7, 2008 | 03:42 PM (EST) This is the most important and controversial post I've ever written. For American readers, the short video above could be the most important video you watch in your lifetime. I hesitated to post this and will alienate some readers, but I accept that. Tomorrow, July 8th, could mark the beginning of official condoning of warrantless surveillance of law-abiding citizens in the US. I am not an alarmist and believe in qualified surveillance with process -- this is different. I've done the homework. The above is an 18-minute interview that I just finished with Daniel Ellsberg, famous for releasing the Pentagon Papers to the New York Times in 1971. His action are often credited with helping end not only the Nixon presidency but also the Vietnam War. He consulted for the Kennedy Administration after receiving a PhD. from Harvard in Economics and served in the Pentagon under Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara. Remember that part of lifestyle design is creating a good environment for you and those you care for. Central to this is preventing dangerous laws -- the rules of your environment -- from coming into existence. This is not about being political. It's about being responsible. In the video above, I interview Ellsberg to learn what every American needs to know -- and do in the next 24 hours -- about the new FISA (Federal Information and Surveillance Act) amendments. The interview, and below partial transcription, answers questions like... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tim-ferriss/wha... |
