What? How so? It isn't the close quarters that is stressful, it is the location of those quarters.

What shame is that, Brian? The knowledge that they defend people like you?

It certainly appears that you've got something against a portion of them.

OK now that you had your little hissy fit, tell us why do other forms of marriage make you so mad? Don't say they don't, they very obviously do.

Anyway, lets get back to the topic OK Fruitcake? Great!

Why is polygamy illegal?

WOW! Yes. Tragedies like this are becoming more common ever since we started allowing gay captains.

That's a funny one! Relax Fruitloops.

You don't have to prove your loyalty to anyone! You can be for equal rights and still have sense of humor. Your gay friends know you support them, no need to get all silly like that!

Seven family types, eh? How did Regnerus control the variables? He didn't. He compared stable, long-term, live together married couples with single parents that may have had a same sex fling. Clearly an "apple and oranges" comparison. No validity. Bogus study. Very simple.
Fact is there hasn't been any credible study on the effects of homosexual parents yet.

Every study sets numerous perimeters. If you don't like his, do your own. None of the other family types are whining, stop yours.

Why is polygamy illegal?

Basically because the SCOTUS doesn't like polygamists!

Many people have, and the verdict is in.

Marriage is a good thing. for those who value it. It's helpful to couples, good for their children, and provides support to the elderly. All good things for society.

And it does all these lovely things for gay couples in the SAME way it does them for straight couples.

And, yes, that IS a reason the smile.

The verdict has been in for a long time. The Regnerus study only confirmed it. Nature established the ideal ions ago.

A father, mother and their biological children. Default situations dramatically increase the negatives for everyone.

And gay couples with children rank last. After single parents.

Hardly a reason to smile...

Marriage, yes, as in conjugal. It also links mother, fathers and their children. How does this apply to SSCs?

It also links mothers to mothers in a marriage, and fathers to fathers withing a marriage, and parents to their children, and children to the parents that raise them.

It also links spouse to spouse, in the same way that marriage links spouse to spouse, and for the same reasons, while providing toe same beneficial protections that strengthens families.

Smirk.
Gay people occur in nature every day, so that argument is a bit silly.
No one will EVER say that having a loving Mother and Father is a wonderful thing.
Same sex couples marrying will not prevent one straight couple from raising kids. So you have nothing to fear.
But that's completely outside the argument for marriage, isn't it? NO ONE is talking about ripping all of the children out of gay couple's homes, now are they? No one is proposing sterilizing all gay folks, or preventing all adoption.
So gay folks will continue to have and to raise kids, just as they do now.
You can argue anything you like about parenting, but parenting isn't at issue here.
The only question is whether or not you can prove that marriage will NOT be beneficial to gay couples and their kids, or that allowing gay couples to marry will harm other people and THEIR kids.
Nothing else is relevant.
So, keep trying.

Daily Horoscope for May 20

Cancer

Your mind is working well, so give it plenty of exercise. You could get involved in an intellectual discussion that forces you to think things through for yourself, or you might have to do some serious thinking about a forthcoming travel plan. If you're often wary of saying what you think you'll feel much braver about speaking up today, which is good news if you want to fight your corner or express your point of view.
