Modesto Teen Killed in Suspected Gang Shooting

A Modesto teen was killed and a friend was injured after the pair were chased down and shot by suspected rival gang members, according to Modesto Police officials.

I know I've said this before, but I'll say it again....Lets send all these gang members to an island, make sure they're all armed and they can take care of each other. We need to do something to clean up our streets.

I know I will get nailed to the wall for this post, be called all kinds of names and that is ok. I don't like gang members anymore than the next person. They are a serious serious issue and a threat to our safety and makes me scared for my kids I don't have the answer to what to do to about it either though and won't pretend that I do.
I have said this before and I do believe it. I will never use the word "Awesome" to describe the death of a teenager, nor will I be giving my co-worker high fives by the water cooler that a teenager is dead. Yes, was it his choice to join a gang, sure, is this the risk you take by joining, yes.
It still is just sad to me. Sad that so much of our youth is going down this road. How do they get there? Surely, not on their own. When a teenager joins a gang, they are failed by someone in their lives to end up on that path.
