Thinking of moving to Red Oak or Forney - what do you think?

What can you tell be about Red Oak and Forney? We are moving in Dec and start our house hunting trip this week. We have kids in school.

My famly and I have lived Forney for 2 years. My aunt has been there for over ten years. I can't imagine a place I would rather be than Forney!! We love it there!! The schools are great, small down home country community with good core values! It is very peaceful here and it is only about 20 minutes from downtown Dallas. I grew up in the country and I still get that "country" feeling every time I leave the house and can still see pastures from the road. You and your family come down and check it out and swing by for annual Christmas parade in downtown Forney in December, you will feel right at home!

We lived in Glenn Heights (small neighbor town just before Red Oak) for several years but when the bottom fell out and everyone lost jobs, alot of homes were vacant and then used as Section 8. In order for us to get out of thenice new neighborhood we lived in, we had to PAY almost $20,000 to pay the difference in what we could get for the house and what we owed. Don't move there. We moved to Forney and LOVE it!! Red Oak is a good school system but Forney is better.
