This is a terrible situation with no winners. One family has lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother forever and another finds a husband, a father, a son, a brother in jail. There must be punishment in this case, but I'm just not sure whether prison time accomplishes anything. Take this man's license away for 20 years. Send a message to people that if they abuse the privilege of driving, they'll lose it--which in our society is a huge thing. However, I fear that no matter how badly wish Mr. Rupp could be back, sending another man to jail because he fell asleep doesn't change things. My thoughts are with both families and I can only hope justice is somehow served.
