I just want to throw up when I hear Fat Ronnie Serpico talk about family values and what the Babe taught him. The Babe was a convicted felon that stole from people that paid and trusted him! Why there is a park named after him is an embarrassment.

Melrose Park drama adds sex charge Mayor's brother arrested, accused of patronizing prostitute. The brother of Melrose Park's mayor, three other men and two women were arrested on misdemeanor prostitution charges over the weekend in Hillside, authorities disclosed Monday.
The arrest of 42-year-old Terry Serpico -- the part-time director of Melrose Park's village-owned fitness center who also has a $59,340- a-year state maintenance-worker job -- is the latest twist in a Serpico family drama in the near west suburb.
Terry Serpico's brother, Melrose Park Mayor Ron Serpico, has drawn the ire of his aunt, Donna Stamatakos. She's running for mayor against her nephew, saying he's too chummy with Anthony Bruno, a disbarred attorney who has been awarded more than $100,000 …

I don't know what is worse....the prostitutes or the $60,0000 janitor and that was 2005 so he is probably making $75,0000 to empty trash cans!

why do I have this feeling that Resident is a sweatsuit wearing bloated roid freak that has no tolerance? Like a scared little girl he sees his perverse lazy lifestyle coming to an end.

I am now voting Martinez if this tool is what Serpico voters act like!

Babe has passed away, have a little respect. And do you have anything else to do besides create forums and comments about the Serpico family and Melrose Park Community. You hide behind your little proxy server, but leave your digital fingerprints all over every last post.
This cyber-harassment has got to end ... especially if this "anonymous" poster has a telephone harassment conviction.
If you want to actually make a difference, then get off your computer and do something positive.

As another poster pointed out......Fat Ronnie Serpico asked that Babe be kept in our thoughts everyday by errecting a monument to him on city property!

When the mayor of the city glorifies a convicted felon that stole from the public in a public monument....then you get what you deserve! Want him to rest in peace? Then take your memorial on a public place down. It is that simple.

It is no crime to speak the truth that the man is a convicted felon that betrayed the public trust. To say he is a jailbird is the truth.

May I suggest you find heros that didn't steal from the very people that employ them.

mY GRANDFATHER WAS NEVER EMPLOYED BY THE VILLAGE. Next if all you can do is talk about someone who has passed away then you have issues.. Is that monument really a issue in politics? What does that have to do with the issues that people raise during the election? Did you know my grandfather? Yes he was a felon and he did his time. You are 100% correct.. However, if you think that going on this dumb web page talking shit behind a fake name is gonna help it isn't. Be a adult and put you name on here then.. Any person who really knew my grandfather would tell you he was loved around the community. There are people everyday that I meet that tell me how much he helped them. I cannot change your position and politics are politics. This is personal not politics.. Get some balls and put your name on here.. Then at least you might get some respect.. Until then you are nothing but a coward.. I'll post again in another 4 years after my uncle whips whomever decides to run.. Hopefully whomever that is can raise a better issue than a monument.

I am glad Ronald won. I think he was the better choice. He now needs to clean house and cut the budget.

check out how much everyone in Melrose Park makes. I would guess that if you cut the salary of everyone by 50% they would still do the job.

Al Capone opened several soup kitchens in the city to help the poor. Does that negate all the terrible things he did? I think not. The babe took bribes and betrayed the public trust. While not the vrime of the century, for his son to name a playing field that is village property is a slap in the face to the public ho's trust he betrayed. Your grandfather was not a bad or evil man by any stretch. But the problem lies in honoring him in a public way which the mayor did. And you are correct which makes one question why a mayor would honor someone, whomever it was, by naming a public place after him if he did nothing for the village.

Judging by the election results every 4 years the public can care less that he named the playing field after his father, who was a great man. so put an egg in your shoe and BEAT it!

Serpico will never cut this budget because these are his lazy buddies that helped get him elected.

Serpico won and the people lost again.

It was a shame there was not a decent candidate that ran against him!

Exactly! He was not an evil man. But it was a slap in the face to the taxpayer to errect a monument to a felon.

There are plenty of others that were more deserving.

You are a moron ! There are many famous people including sports stars from MP. Michael Finley,Gino Pisellini, Roy Gleason, Ed OBradovich,......actors and humanitarians that devoted their lives to helping others!

There are coaches and teachers that gave their lives to helping young student athletes!

And instead you errect a monument to a convicted felon that stole from the very people that trusted him?!?!!Because it was Fat Ronnies daddy.

Dumb and shameful.
