This is the WORST driving "academy" ever. Mrs. Allegretti is a mean, mean woman, who doesn't care what happens in the school, or if the students are right on an answer, only that she makes her money, keeps her license, and has a high Students/Pass ratio.

Mrs. Allegretti doesn't accept answers that are quoted from her book, as correct, even when they include the answer that is given in the answer key, but expand upon it.

Mrs. Allegretti has a mean demeanor, that is much like that of a five year old, towards her "students", but suddenly has a more grownup demeanor when talking to parents. She uses very small, simple words while talking to students, but much larger words, that she probably doesn't understand when talking to parents.

Her entire goal with this "academy" is to make more money, and to sell it to parents, who should really be talking to kids, to find out what they think of her.

This driving academy is great. I've learned so much already, and unlike the class at school, there's no homework, which is good for someone with a busy schedule. Ms. Allegretti definitely knows how to teach kids well.

This driving acadamey is awesome. I learned a ton, and I feel so confident about driving. Ms. Allegretti is possibly the funniest and most intelligent instructor Oak Park can ever hope to offer. She offers a friendly, positive, and open learning atmosphere.

Allegretti is a great driving academy. Its the perfect learning environment and Mrs. Allegretti always makes it fun for the students. She is teaching us all we need to know in the classroom without the burden of homework.

This is an amazing driving academy. You can learn a lot in a fun easier enviroment, it is conviently near many large high schools making the driving process much easier.

My daughter had a wonderful experience at this school. I looked at 2 others in the area, the choice was easy to make. My daughter is an excellent and safe driver. I owe it all the Ms. Allegretti. She could not have been kinder, or more concerned for the safety of my daughter. I would recommend this school to ever parent I know.

This is by far THE BEST driving school in the entire state. I should know I have checked out all of them. I would never send my child out with someone I did not trust. I have done my homework and Miss. Allegretti is the best! I suggest others should check out the other schools and see for themselves. Miss.Allegretti has no competition! I trust her with my child's life.

My son just finished his course at this school. The place is clean and Ms. Allegretti was very nice and friendly. They did a great job.

A very prickly proprietor who took offense at every question. Insisted her program and curriculum was better than other schools but couldn't say why other than that she was "a better teacher." Rude, defensive and abrupt on the telephone. A poor first impression.

All Comments made below except for the Marilyn monroe one are completely false. As you can see all of the comments were made on dec 4, 2008. Ms allegretti wrote all of those herself probably. This woman is the most terrible and rudest person that I have ever met. She uses awful language and extremely offensive terms and makes kids have panic attacks in her in-cars. If you want to keep your sanity, do not go here.

The owner, Mary Allegretti is extremely unprofessional. She doesn't listen before responding. She speaks over you and hangs up on you and then pretends that she didn't end the calls abruptly.

Can oyou imagine how she is treating the kids!

She is focused on MONEY ONLY!!!!

I wouldn't recommend this school to ANYONE unless you want to pay money, have her speak to you unprofessionally and tell you to take your child to another place if you're unhappy.

BE ON ALERT! SHE IS UNSTABLE!

She discriminated against my son because of color and indicated that students that were not of color were doing well in the class.

I have never paid for a service and then been spoken to so poorly.

May this school never make another dime!

It is in a diverse community, but she makes a difference in the students.

The owner is the only one there and she is HORRIBLE! She never comes on time. You wait for her to arrive to a class that you have paid A LOT of money to attend.

Saddended that discrimination is still alive in OAK PARK!

This lady is ridiculous and she should close down that "Academy". My daughter went there and went on only 1 drive with her, and she is a exemplary driver in fact, and Allegretti threatened to kick her out of the car and got in her face. A few days ago she called to get her classroom certificate and she cut her off to answer another call and told my daughter to call her back in 5 minutes, as she did. Then she greeted her with a rude tone and yelled at her... DO NOT GO THERE!!!! She's messed up.
Do not go here PLEASE

Do. Not. Go. Here. Allegretti is a terrible teacher, constantly yells on the telephone, and uses derogatory words like "gay" and "retarded" with her students and thinks it's funny. FYI Ms. Allegretti, it's highly offensive. She is very rude and abrupt. When someone does not understand something, she says she does not care and does not bother to explain it. She is on the telephone in her in-car appointments and owns a shitty car to take her students driving. It feels like you're driving a damn tractor on a street full of rocks. She yells and yells and makes you nervous. My friend went to driver's school in Western Springs and said her teacher told students to, "Never drive with anyone from Allegretti's." Now I know why. My mom does a better job teaching me how to drive. She gives us snacks and let's us watch movies in her driving school, but that doesn't make me forget all of the times she's been mean. I'm not writing this negative review solely because I don't like her (although that's part of it), I'm writing this because I don't want parents to spend, no, WASTE $425 on a "driving school" that their children will not enjoy. Teens need a school that will challenge them while providing a positive learning atmosphere, and that place isn't here. I feel bad that my mom was duped into spending so much money on such a crappy place. Ms. Allegretti, I hope you aren't treating your hair clients the same as your students.
