Please explain to us how you were ejected from the vehicle if you were wearing your seatbelt. I also heard Chicago charged you with a DUI, is this true?

The guy who is hurt should of had his seatbelt on. That is why he is in the condition he is in, everone wants to blame the other driver. Accidents happen it was an accident, So now what send the guy to jail because the other guy is hurt/dead not sure of his status as of today. He was not wearing a seatbelt that is why he was ejected from his car. Seatbelts saves lives, he is the only one to blame. Plus i wonder what he was doing driving at that time anyway. Bet he was leaving a bar. Look at the pictures from the scene of the accident, any fool can see the pick up truck hit the SUV look at the damage. I hpoe all you dummies think before you post such comments about this accident. I now it is the Law in IL to wear your seatbelt. Give the hurt guy a ticket for the seatbelt violation and another one for being stupid. And as for his friend that visits him in the hospital tooo bad, when or if your friend wakes up let him know he flew threw the air like a bird because he did not have his seatbelt on DUMMIES!
You have NO idea what you are speaking about!!! I a live with the victim and let me tell you something he wears his seatbelt ALWAYS and wore it that night. Your miss information disgusts me. When someone hits you at 110 mph you think that impact with out a seat belt on would have killed him but now he is a Quadrapelgic instead. So whats better ?! You tell me.

So, Mike O'Donnell was sentenced to 10 years for this accident.

He's in Vienna Prison.

By sad, I mean tragic for his wasted life. I do NOT mean that I think it was sad, that he was sentenced. I misspoke, and sincerely hope the victims of this tragedy are able to move forward despite what they suffer through, and I offer my most serious condolences on the suffering they have went through. I was friends xwith Mike before his drug addiction, and I am literally disgusted with what he has done. I hope that he apologized at his sentencing, not that that would help, but taking responsibility is something that eludes him. And to the person talking shit about the injured parties? I pray for you. You are obviously not playing with a full deck. Or you are, as well, a heroin junkie. I just hope that when it's your turn to spiral out of control, you don't hurt anyone else.

I really dont care if junkies kill themselves. Better off for their families. I do, however, care very much when some moronic waste of space decides to post on here BLAMING THE VICTIM for being out at a late time.

Do junkies and drunks own the road after midnight? You are pathetic.

Ok all you shit heads. Poor Mike O. 10 years is just too much time for him to get sentenced. We have people shooting others in the head and not getting that much time. I feel for all parties in this matter. But 10 years give me a break. I just know from the sentence that he must not have had a Attorney. How could this have happen. A good lawyer could have got him off or atleast 3 years. I know for sure. I see cases drag out in court for years and his case is already closed. he must of pleaded guilty, big mistake. The Judge should have taken into consideration his parents and his addictions. And as for you Mike from Homer Glen. you should post your real name you are not friends with Mike O. A real friend would not post stupid stuff like you do. I will be going to visit Mike this week. No need too worry I will send out a holla to all the brothers in Vienna to look out for Mike O. and to make sure he is taken care of in the big house. What you think he is rotten away in prison? I think not He will have it good while he is doing the time. What bull this is and the victim you are full of it tooo you did not have on your setbelt, if it was on you would not have been ejected from your car. You should blame the cops they hit you. They put you in your pain. From what I know your blood alcohol level was high the guy in suv was normal. So I bet you left a bar drunk and got hit by a cop car. Wrong place wrong time. Ask god why he let this happen to you. i ALSO KNOW YOU DO NOT LIVE IN Mt. Greenwood so why you driving on 111th st at 2:00am leaving a bar.

I have proof of wearing a seatbelt, like the bruise around my waste. If ejected you think I would have some cuts and bruises from the road. I wasn't drunk, not even close, some people have good lives. Hmmm big sentence, well mine is for the rest of my life. Lets see he had and was on drugs, no license, no insurance and multiple arrests, oh ya out on bond for drug arrest. I dare you to come visit me!

seatbelts don't prevent broken necks from whiplash, especially when hit at over 100 mph.
At least Mike was a big enough man to take responsibilty for his actions

U r such an idiot for even writing something as cruel as that. You're also not suppose to drink and drive, so who's more to blame? This gut was running from the police which cause so many deaths and injuries. I think u are pointing the finger at the wrong guy. The cops are also the blame. My sister was a victim of a high speed police pursuit in late Feb of 08'. CBS 2 News also did a special on her case. She was in an ICU for 3 months at Advocate Christ Medical Center, so I know what it's like. Some idiot was fleeing the police and ran a red light which landed her and her fiance in the hospital. He was also fleeing for traffic violations. So for u to try and put the blame on the guy who was the victim makes me so angry. The officer should have weighed the risk of chasing this guy for some damn traffic violations. You really need to grow up dork.

I feel your pain. I too was a victim of a high speed police pursuit earlier tis year. I was a passenger in the car when Midlothian police neglegently t-boned me while chasing a guy wanted for traffic violations. That landed me in Advocate Christ Medical Center's ICU for 3 months also.We were actually there at the exact same time. My life has been changed drastically also, it's a living nightmare. I understand ur pain. This happened in late Feb, and all of that nonsense that these wackos on here are nagging about is irrelevant. You are a victim, and I pray that u continue in the road to recovery, as I am. Don't allow anyone to get your spirits down, because they are unaware of the pain and turmoil that we have suffered. U shouldn't even be trying to defend yourself. These guys talking negativly are idiots. They don't know the half of what you've been through. Did they lie in Christ's ICU for months alone, and in pain? Did they nearly loose their lives because I know I did, and it sounds like you did also. I think not. They have to actually suffer through being a victim of police neglegence in order to understand the physical, mental and emotional effects of being a high speed pursuit victim. You have my prayers.

Wonder why you are so quick to judge? Did you see the accident happen. If he was speeding people do it all the time. I pray for both of the drivers. Accidents happen. The guy in the SUV is a good guy, we all make mistakes. He has lost more then one person could take. This accident has just added to his pain. The Merrionette Park Police are always crossing the line over to chicago, think about that. I for one know they pull people over for no reason at all they have like 2 small streets to patrol Kedzie and 115th. We are talking a small run down town Merrionette Park is Lucky to be next to Mt. Greenwood. I avoid driving threw the crap village and go around. Stay on your own side MP Police and this would have never of happen.
she isn't judging she is wondering like so many of us are too! and you obciously have something against MP My opinion of them is it is a very nice quiet town not rundown that don't want trouble makers moving in

True. I just found it odd that the police had no comment.
I once witnessed a driver next to me drinking beer while driving. He was swerving so much that I asked my then boyfriend (now husband) to slow down and stay as far away from him as possible. As we went down a two-lane road that had guard rails on the side he went over the center line and hit a lady head on. We jumped out of the car and found her unconscious in the front seat. The guy went over by the bushes and threw his beer can away (I believe) and came out staggering with a majorly broken nose that didn't seem to phase him at all. I had told the police that I personally witnessed him drinking but they wouldn't take my information because I was about 19 at the time or because they already knew they had enough evidence to show he was drunk driving.
My prayers are with the innocent victims.
that is so sad that a drunk driver almost kills someone and got away with it.........

gee you must have badluck because I lived at 115th and Springfield for years and always drove in MP not once was I ever stopped byt the police.........rundown?? where do you see that the town is run down?? Mount Greenwood was created after MP so they are the lucky ones........MP has good schools.....nice homes......good families....a great police department..........unlike Chicago PD which is Mount Greenwood....it really seems like you had a bad experience with MP police and need to blame the entire department and town.....

I would not say Mike the driver took responsibility.

He got arrested. It really was not his choice. I am sure he woulda ran if given the opportunity.

And to blame the victim is idiotic. I own a coffee shop soooo i am often driving at that time of day. I gotta get there early as we open at 5am. I do NOT drink and drive. To assume that the vic was is moronic.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Taurus

Everything seems to be getting under your skin at the moment, but this is no excuse to lose your temper, and you know it. Better by far to be discreet and plough on steadily, without looking to the left or right. If you keep your feet on the ground and don't get discouraged, there are definitely fair winds that will blow you along. It's just a question of finding the right balance between confidence and commonsense.
