This city is unbelievable! Why anybody would choose to live in this cesspool amazes me. I cannot wait to leave this conglomeration of gangs and crack-heads. And that will be IMMEDIATELY after this job is completed. Cannot wait to see Chicago in my rear-view mirror!!!!

Gang style drive by shootings are Chicago's answer for Capital Punishment. They are all guilty of something

Your Reporter should visit the South Side Neighborhoods. 12100 South Indiana Avenue is not West Pullman it is Roseland. I have lived in both. For almost 100 years it was a Polish Neighborhood, in the St. Salomea Parish, old, clean safe & well maintained. I visited Roseland a couple years ago and what a disaster. The concept of maintenance is a foreign word here. Roseland with excellent public transportation, Palmer Park & West Pullman Park, Roseland Community Hospital etc why can't someone of great wealth start urban renewal here. You don't have to go to a third world country to see ruin by people, it's here. The north side of Chicago has had some real progress in rehabing old neighborhoods. A return to Family Values would be a great start for the people populating old Roseland.

The reporter is right... the area is West Pullman, at least that's what the Chicago Community Map says...

The Chicago Community Map is wrong. I guess it's representatives won't get off their duffs too. Indiana Avenue dead ends at 121st blocked by the Metra Blue Island Run. Old St. Salomea was at 118th & Indiana. The nearest Metra stop two blocks west of Indiana is State St., followed by Stewart Ridge and then West Pullman (Halsted St) that's about 4 miles. Perhaps the Chicago Community Map folks could call the Chicago 9th Ward Office. Perhaps the Police Stations could update their records. The Police Station at 115th and Indiana is probably closed. As a former paperboy with the Chicago Daily News I knew my streets and communities well.

So that was the name of the parish that closed and was taken over by Meeks' congregation (until he moved out.) I've been trying to find that out for years... BTW, that map is pretty outdated. It shows only 77 communities when there are more than 200 in Chicago today.

I don't understand why? when it comes to reporting stories of people being murderer in the black community, stories are short and to the point. But in other communties you can find a detailed story regarding what took place.

I knew Rell-D very well and this is hard on me. The person that did this to him will be punished one day. I love Chicago, but, this city is like the death sentence! Your kids aren't safe nor your own grandparents. Being gone from here for so long made me realize that my life was saved by living. Terrell was just going home and an a-hole had the nerve to be waiting there to kill him...what a real sissy to not face the man but to sneak up and steal his life while his family were just a door step away!!! You will have to answer to someone soon

That area is indeed Roseland. I've lived on the south side all of my life.

Well for starters if you have grown up in this type of environment you go by the rules, hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil. This is because, for instance, you will be labeled as a snitch and who ever you testified against or gave information about, probably will come after you or your family too. People are afraid of revenge of telling rather than telling what is right.

Baby girl, you must have benn sheltered all of your life for you to make a narrow-minded statement like the one you had the nerve to post. There is crime no matter where you live. You can't out run crime. It does not matter what neighborhood you live in. It can be prodominately white, and there you will find a nut case who has taken out the whole family!!!!! Whereas the black neighborhoods, people kill who they are looking for and that's it. You read the news about shit that's happening, and some of that same killing is happening in Florida babydoll.

To everyone who has the nerve to debate about what neighborhood that is [email protected]$#k YOU!!!!!!! I was just as stupid to debate back with you idiots. My guy just got killed and all yall write in about is,is this Pullman or Roseland? I would hate for you all to be in this situation and for someone to debate whether your friend or loved on got shot near a bus stop or a stop light or some shit like that. Yall better get right for when God calls you all home. You don't know when that will be.
