Oak Island Restaurant next to Turtle Island is a home cooking, comfort food place with reasonable pricing. Turtle Island is a much more pricey and special occasion type of restaurant. Nothing can beat "Beanas" for breakfast and lunch.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. We've always enjoyed Jones, but I can't recall if we've been to Oak Island Restaurant. We'll have to give it a try on our Oct. trip.

Try not to have to eat at the Brunswick county jail . The bologna has a green tint and the bread isn't fresh. They offer no organic veggies.

Won't be problem, Visitor, God-fearing, law-abiding citizen here. Never seen the inside of any jail. ;)

Pelican Seafood for fresh seafood and the best homemade baklava ever!

Love the Mexican place.

Jones is good but I don't like to wait an hour to be seated.

The Flying Pig at breakfast if you only want coffee and pastry. It has free wifi so you can catch up on your email.

I did not eat at Beana's because it was full of smokers. I started to sneeze as soon as I walked in. That was a few years ago and I never went back. Maybe it is different now.

The best restaurant on the island is The Fish House at Blue Water Point. Their raw oysters are always fresh and their Crab Legs are to die for!
Shrimp cocktail is always fresh and delicious!
Well worth the wait!

Oh, forgot to mention Little Bits. She makes the best omelet I've ever tasted. The sub shop beside the Post Office has the best Cuban. Also, the Barbeque Restaurant has the best bbq!

If you like She Crab Soup the very best that I've ever had is at the Maritime Market Deli on Bald Head Island. It's delicious! They've also got a sandwich called The White Out that is out of this world. Yummo!

For special occasions, Island Way is awesome! And my husband doesn't agree with me, but I think the best pizza on the island is Pizza Shack, hands down. I'm sad to hear about the O'Kyles pizza man passing away. He was a really nice guy and his pizza was also very good.

O'Kyle Pizza was bought by the previous owner's friend. The pizza recipe had been shared and it is still very good. The family is very nice and has extended the menu. It is now called East Beach Diner I think... same phone number iirc.
