I was blonde when I was younger. My hair naturally darkened in my teens. I have dyed it every color under the rainbow. My latest adventure has been about 5 years of being a dark red head. Lately I've tried stepping back the color to my now naturally medium brown with red under tones but it just seems all the color on the tips of my hair continies to get darker as the dye builds up. I understand that my first attempt at lightening will end up being a bright neon orange. My question is how long must I wait to try and bleach the orange out? Can I go blonde in one day? Can I go to bed with orange hair and bleach again the next day or should I leave this adventure up to the professionals?

You can do it at once if your hair is healthy. When you color leave it off your ends until the last 10 min. They dont need as much time to process as the rest of your hair. Good luck!

Go to Sallys Beauty Supply..... get a cream color with a neutral base. They will help in what to get.. DO NOT use wal mart color. You dont know the base, and it could turn out horrific. I know, i ended up with blue on the ends, which were blonde, and brassy red on the brown growth. Professional fixed it, took several hrs, and I havent touched it since. That was 7 yrs ago. Go to Sallys.... or a pro.
