I believe i have had a change of heart, i was driving the bus today getting ready for my afternoon run when i think i heard a voice, but there were no students on the bus. Could this have be a sign from god? Open mind says maybe? Whats to lose right? I decided to accept god and religion, which is a big first step. The second step is turning out to be far more difficult and hopefully you all will be able to lend some advice and guidence. I am trying to decide which religion will be the best choice for me. I really like the peacefullness of Buddhism or Hinduism, also Jainism, Shinto, and Sikism all have good morals and values. I dont think i can accept the christian religion, just to violence for me, murder, rape and genocide along with slavery i just cant be associated with that and be happy. And also just cant wrap my mind around the fact you can rape and murder a child and still go to heaven, so that is out, islam seems just as violent, although the 72 virgins kind of have me swaying that direction, been celibate for a while and that would be a plus, then again to much bloodshed. Any help in my decision making would be great! Thanks

Seventy two virgins could be a game changer but a man has to know his limitations. :)

Joe your quagmire is resolved. I just heard a voice instructing me to recommend 72 virgins. Glad I could help.

Well truth2 I appreciate your input, so that is one thumb up for the virgins, still a bit concerned about all the violence in islam. I was really hopeing for some more input, like to approach important decisions with an open mind. Thanks

No, my friend, just like to look at everything with an open mind and eyes wide open. The only way to really find peace of mind is to know i have made the best decision for my remaining days on earth.

Joe would you consider visiting a church on Sunday?

Possibly in the future, just trying to research beliefs and values of various religions through out the world. Just curious, did you ever consider any other religions before you chose christianity? If so how much research did you do?

Well what's wrong with starting your research this Sunday? I urge you to just go visit. Find you a seat and listen to what is said. But please do it with a open, un-biased mind. As for which one to visit. Well, I hate to admit it, but there are churches out there who act more like a social club than a place to worship God; and I'd hate for you to find one of these your first try and it leave a bad taste in your mouth so to speak. If you live close to the Oak Hill area, I'd love to have you come visit our church.

As far as choosing. Christianity chose me, I didn't choose it.

I appreciate the offer but i feel there are so many choices to choose from i just want to resrarch and know without doubt i will find one that will fit in with my beliefs, i value the cause no harm and peacefullness train of belief. I was hopeing some folks out here may have studied abroad and had some advice on the various religions.

I'll pass on the 72 virgins, if it was heaven there would be 72 "experienced" women waiting on you... LoL

The thing about organized religions today is none of them act like the man that they follow (jesus).
