walmart layaway!

I dont know whose bright idea it was to take layaway out of walmart. but please bring it back you would think in this economy every store would have it! during christmas i have to shop at kmart cause of the layaway and i hate kmart. if walmart would get the layaway back i think it would be a wonderful thing and i think many of you agree

what are they thinking .if they care about the amercian people like they say they would offer layaway again. even if they charged a fee. everyone always had layaways.some people can't afford to pay cash for everything.it just doesn't seem fair somehow.

Did you go to the management and talk to them, or contact corporate headquarters or email them? Lots of stores ended layaway in the last years but a few are doing it again.

Walmart ended layaway shortly after they rolled out their credit card. They are not going to bring it back. Start a savings account for Christmas or buy walmart gift cards through out the year to use at Christmas.

Walmart ended layaway because it was costing the company to much money to keep it operational. thats what they say anyway. not like they dont make millions every year.

I got $4000 in my bank acct,$4000 in my savings,$1500 credit card thats paid off, and a $1400 JC Penneys card thats paid off..

billy ray prolly only has cash cause welfare pays all his bills. just saying some people actually don't get assistant from the state so layaway is actually a conveniant way to cover christmas, hide your purchases from your kids, and not go broke. people on here are so stupid sometimes. some people don't like to use credit for everything. especially with the high interest rates.

I think that it is a shame that WalMart did away with their layaway plan.A lot of people depend on this for Christmas.Some people just can't afford to just pay all at once for their purchase.But I can also understand a business's point of view.A lot of people make a layaway and then cancel it,therefore causing a business an unnessary expense.But we are the ones that are keeping them in business.

I used to work in layaway department. There is a number of reason that it was discontinued. Safety was a big one because a lot of the items was stored in trailers, being out there trying to move around with ice on the ground made it dangerous. Being out there in the trailers made us a target of being jumped which had happen at another Walmart. And as the saying goes "people abuse a good thing and everyone pays". Only 20% of customers would actually pay the layaway off. The hot items was stuck in layaway that you wanted and after the holidays when it was found somewhere else or ordered off line ours would be sitting on the shelves waiting on a mark down. Retail is about making money so doing things cost efficient is what they will do, same as any other company. A lot of banks offer a Christmas club account or you can add money to a gift card a little at a time and save for Christmas.

I loved that walmart used to offer layaway now I go to kmart and toys r us but toys r us will do layaway only on big items size not price and you have to wait 1=2 weeks after being paid off for it to be delivered to your store I am still waiting on my trampoline. I like layaway cause no interest fees are charged and I take my mom who is on a set income to do layaway for her great grandchildren for christmas it's easy and affordable for her. I do wish walmart would bring it back but I know how many people probably never paid off their layaway. I do find deals at kmart just not as big of a selection so I purchase the small stuff at kmart and the big stuff at toys r us and the reasonable priced stuff at walmart one purchase at a time.

this is really stupid yes we all could use layaway but the really one's who did screw it up was the low lifes,put it on layaway no service charge to cancel fee used it as a savings if they could do there 1,200 in food they get from the state they would,they can't wait till midnight every month to load up 3 or 4 cart's of junk and i mean junk,sell their stamps to buy drugs give everyone there so called welfare credit card and pin number to do shopping cuz they get 1,200 to 1,400 a month in stamps plus we get clothing valcher's come on now why keep haveing these kids for the working to take care of you and your kid's and spouse,keep on poping them out the state is suppose to buy your food clothe your child give you wic pay you utilities low life sob's slobs.

I remember complaining in writing to WalMart Corp. office only to be told there are other options, such as a WalMart Credit Card or Bill Me Later options. I don't remember the Einstein was that answered, but they obviously did not carefully read my correspondence.

I agree with you. Walmart did it hoping that people would use their walmart credit cards. But if everybody had walmart credit cards they wouldn't need to lay their things away. I also hate Kmart, they suck, they don't have much of a toy department which makes it even harder at Christmas. Hey Wal-mart you care about your customers so much, how about showing us that and bring back layaway!!!

My name is Tim and I like to tell you about a experience I had a company called layawayexpress.com or better known as layaway express or formerly known as 123 layaway I have been doing business with this company since 2006 I have bought my 3 tv and xbox and wedding ring for my beautiful wife. I compared all the online layaway companies out there and let me tell you what I found.
elayaway.com wanted my checkiing and wanted to deduct money out of my account. I have a problem with that because I like control of my money. If I got in a bind with have to buy food or pay on my layaway I want to know that my money is there. And my bank told me that the number one reason customers go overdraft is because of automated payments. When I heard that I only heard overdraft charges. Why does it seem like there prices are higher. And the fees omg there was so many fees. They should pay me for using there service.
So will I be using elayaway (NO) So far layaway express is better in my eyes.
walmart layaway is no longer but I can use layaway express with walamrt. and I have.
Kohls have a three day hold but that did me no good. With layaway express they have 2 month, 3 month, 4 month, 6 month layaway program. They have let me choose so they don't break the bank.
Lets talk about toyrus layaway I like there layaway for most part. I love toys. But I like the smaller toys and bigger toys so if your buying only larger items then its ok i guess but if you want your layaway in all one layaway plan and be able to buy smaller items then I want to use layaway express.
Now lets talk about 123 layaway out of cincinnati ohio I was disappointed to hear they went out of business but I found them again under layaway express. So I even had questions about why....
I talked with jerry, javier, james, shela with customer service. This is what was told to me. The company mergered with other companies and the company wants to bring fast and great customer service to everyone. The name change reprents what it wants to do layaway and express service.
So I google all the companies I did find a customer complaint against the 123 layaway under some scam website and I read the why. I can understand why the company had to make sure the refund was not another credit card scam. Customer need to understand if companies are not careful the prices will have to go up and layaway fees will have to go up. So to keep the cost down for the majority of the customers that customer had to wait for its refund a little longer. and I see the bbb.org has cleared them of any wrong doing. I talked with the admin at layaway express and asked they why they were rated. And the admin at layaway express said its because layaway express has not been in business for 1 year. I replyed I know thats not true because the company was known as 123 layaway and i have been buying from them since 2006-2007.

This is my question and statement:
123 layaway had a A- rating and it was in business under that name since 2005
Its the same owner and same layaway process. So why would this company not be rated A- as well.
Is that misleading the public about this company.
As a customer I only think the company changed names there doing the same thing and I did find out that there was 9 complaints last year but all are being handled effectively

What is layaway express doing wrong to be not earn a A- RATING and not earn bbb.org accredation
The answer is nothing we the public are being mislead about layaway express and they should have there rating and bbb accredation unless bbb.org is playing favorites and discrimating against layaway express.
